Required Skills:

Data Science Manager Responsibilities:

  1. Coordinate, inform, influence, support, and execute product decisions and product launches by effectively communicating results to cross functional groups

  2. Work across areas of product operations, exploratory analysis, product leadership, and data infrastructure to help shape the future of what we build at Facebook

  3. Applying expertise in quantitative analysis, data mining, and the presentation of data to see beyond the numbers and understand how Facebook users interact with our consumer and business products

  4. Mine massive amounts of data and perform large-scale data analysis to extract useful business insights

  5. Develop data pipelines with automated, machine-learning systems that convert noisy core datasets into powerful signals of user behavior

  6. Build models of user behaviors for analysis or to power production systems

  7. Partner with Product and Engineering teams to solve problems and identify trends and opportunities

  8. Design and implement dashboards and reports that track key business metrics and provide actionable insights.

  9. Telecommute from anywhere in U.S. permitted

  10. Number of direct reports may vary

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field. Requires 60 months of experience in the job offered or a related occupation. Experience must include 60 months in the following:

  2. Product Data Science or Growth Analytics, including in depth experience with experimentation

  3. Predictive modeling, machine learning, and experimentation or causal inference methods

  4. Forming partnerships and influencing cross-functional leaders in engineering, product, design, or research

  5. Statistical analysis experience with packages including R, MATLAB, SPSS, SAS, Stata, or BI reporting tools

  6. Applied statistics or experimentation including A/B testing

  7. Quantitative analysis involving technology development, consulting, investment banking, or product management

  8. Large data sets and distributed computing including Hive or Hadoop

  9. Data querying languages including SQL

  10. Scripting languages including Python

  11. Statistical/mathematical software including R
