The ideal candidate for this position can plan and direct all accounting operational functions, handle the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluate accounting and internal control systems, and support departmental staff. Candidates who can lead with integrity and reliability and have the ability to manage self and others with urgency, practicality and accountability when providing client services, will be preferred for this position. Responsibilities

  • Present executive committee and partners with monthly financial reports

  • Research, prepare and execute Finance Department initiatives such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as required

  • Review and revise deliverables of self and team to ensure that they meet client expectations

  • Collaborate with executive team and partners to support efficient and effective firm-wide operation

  • Evaluate, implement and streamline policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies

  • Respond on items beyond formal job responsibilities

  • Handle daily cash management and produce cash-flow reports, calculating cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals

  • Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor on a monthly basis

  • Time monthly billing and other cash management techniques to make sure cash collection is punctual

  • Lead the operations of the finance department which includes accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll

  • Responsible for month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations & General Ledger analysis

    Requirements - Self-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve problems

  • Ability to meet deadlines

  • Proven knowledge of payroll

  • Corporate Tax Return experience preferred

  • Practical knowledge of New full-time Orientations

  • Wide ranging experience with Deltek

  • Earlier work involving Microsoft Excel

  • Deep understanding of financial reporting

  • Month end closings experience

  • Enter Invoices experience highly desired

  • Knowledge of bank reconciliations

  • General familiarity with Onboarding

  • Well-founded grasp of Profitability Analysis

  • Quality experience with benefits administration

  • Past work in technology, analytics and management experience highly valued

  • BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field

  • Strong communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, both oral and written, and ability to build as well as deliver effective presentations

  • Attention to detail and ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement

  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred

  • Proven analytical skills - defining problems, collecting relevant data, drawing valid conclusions, and recommending improvement/corrective actions

  • Prior work done in public accounting is desired

  • Experience working in a dynamic and changing company environment a plus

  • Strong communication and social skills and able to receive criticism we
