The Ford Purchasing team adds critical value to the entire organization. You’ll help us source the highest quality parts and services from around the globe while ensuring optimal cost and on-time delivery. You’ll also contribute to establishing a robust supply chain so that we can continually produce the vehicles our customers want.
We are seeking a Purchasing Buyer to be the lead for Ford's North American Door Handle Purchasing moving into the future. The evolution from combustion to electric vehicles is driving the need for new handle technologies going forward. Looking for a self-starter to take on the role as an expert in the door handle field and help Ford transition technologies to the customer needs of the EV market.
In this position...
Lead supplier commercial negotiations.
Develop and maintain strong supplier partnerships.
Quote and negotiate pricing with suppliers for the purchase of service parts, tooling, and services.
What you'll do...
Approve Purchase Orders for Prototype, production, services, etc.
Assist in the resolution of cost, quality, and delivery issues affecting the supply.
Work with other Buyers in both Service and Production to develop strategies and implement solutions.
Identify and implement cost reductions.
Negotiate cost avoidances for suppliers requesting cost increases.
3+ years of purchasing, procurement, and/or sourcing experience.
Previous Purchasing experience with electrical, mechanical, or physical components.

5+ years of purchasing, procurement, and/or sourcing experience.
Project Management skills and process discipline.
Strong analytical skills and proficiency in using Word and Excel; Access skills a plus.
Ability to evaluate and analyze data to enable operational decision-making or present clear recommendations to leadership.
