Nelnet Business Systems Analyst - Consumer Loans in Topeka, Kansas

A Consumer Loan Business Systems Analyst will work to solve organizational and client information problems by seeking, capturing and analyzing requirements; designing programs; recommending system controls and protocols. The successful candidate will work in a collaborative framework that focuses on building consensus through data analysis paired with customer insights. The output of work product will drive investments and initiatives that aligns with organizational Strategic Themes and Goals.- Determines operational objectives by studying business functions; gathering information; evaluating output requirements and formats. - Supports Operational Programs and Client success by analyzing requirements; constructing workflow charts and diagrams; studying system capabilities; writing specifications. - Supports continuous discovery to improve systems and client performance by studying current practices; gathering customer feedback; designing modifications including perform gap and current state analysis, develop system requirements, design, prototype, test, train, and define support procedures and implementations. - Recommends controls by identifying problems; writing improved procedures. - Defines Client and Operational Program Initiative requirements by identifying initiative milestones, phases, and elements; forming initiative team within the Consumer Loan One-Team governance framework; establishing project budget. - Monitors initiative progress by tracking activity; resolving problems; publishing progress reports; recommending actions. - Maintains system protocols by writing and updating procedures. - Provides references for users by writing and maintaining user documentation; providing help desk support; training users. - Maintains user confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential. - Prepares technical reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends to recommend business strategies. - Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies. - Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. - Responsible for the client(s) strategy, portfolio monitoring and analysis and to run data analytics on the client portfolio - Performs recurring technical tasks for client(s) as needed - Builds queries for client(s) as needed - Runs monitoring oversight reports on client programs as needed and communicates results to management - Responsible for the testing of client(s) profile configuration updates and ownership of client(s) profiles - Collaborates with internal teams and client(s) as needed to execute on client(s) needs - Provides oversight of the client(s) billing and invoice process - Investigate and report on business issues across multiple processes, systems and products. - Provides clear and concise verbal and written communication tailored to the appropriate audience (technical and non-technical). - Working knowledge of Agile; fosters open communication and teamwork - Stimulates collaboration among clients, operations, and technical staff. - Listens to and understands audience

EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree and/or commensurate experience.

EXPERIENCE: - Experience in working in a collaborative, team-based development environment. - 3 to 5 years of experience as a Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, Quality Analyst or detailed working knowledge of several system functions. - 1 – 3 years of data analysis experience - 1 – 3 years of experience in a customer or client facing role. - Good working knowledge of word processing, presentation software and spreadsheet tools, SQL, HTML, Adobe Acrobat, and the internet. COMPETENCIES – SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES: - Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels of the organization. - Strong consensus building, multi-tasking, interpersonal, and analytical skills. - Ability to work with both technical staff and clients. - Self-directed and highly motivated. - Ability to review complex problems and identify, communicate and implement solutions - Customer focused with a strong desire to create a great customer experience. - Innovative, ability to make recommendations and implement changes to improve customer experience. - Ability to analyze portfolio trends and make recommendations - Deep product understanding of the products that our Clients utilize and that our Operational teams utilize to support our Clients. - Ability to quickly learn new technologies and business functions. - Ability to perform effectively in a team-oriented environment. Experience with Agile strongly desired.
