Guidehouse AWS Data Pipeline Engineer in Topeka, Kansas

What You Will Do :

  • Lead Amazon Web Service (AWS) data extract, transform, and load (ETL) design and build effort required to implement a complex, highly available and scalable data pipeline using AWS technologies across multiple Availability Zones and Regions within the AWS GovCloud

  • Lead efforts to build, and test an AWS data pipeline using S3, Lambda, Python, DynamoDB, EventBridge, Step Functions, Simple Notification Service, and RDS for SQL Server

  • Configure, provision, and deploy the AWS pipeline as a highly available, operationally resilient configuration in multiple AWS availability zones and multiple regions of AWS GovCloud

  • Implement and test an AWS data pipeline that fails over to a secondary AWS GovCloud region in support of disaster recovery RTO and RPO requirements

  • Implement all AWS data pipeline configurations as Infrastructure as Code, using AWS CDK, TypeScript, and a GitLab CI/CD pipeline

  • Support efforts to make certain design and architecture and build deliverables comply with FISMA “High Impact” compliance level requirements and support HVA Control Overlays (Version 2.0)

  • The data pipeline will be part of a High Value Asset (HVA) that is rated as a FISMA “High Impact” system; For this reason, you will support efforts to design and build the ETL architecture services using an AWS GovCloud infrastructure that employs cloud service offerings that are FedRAMP authorized at the “High” Impact Level

What You Will Need :

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent post high school education and/or work-related experience in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other Information Technology related field

  • 6+ Years AWS ETL design and development experience

  • Proven ability to architect, design, and build multi-region AWS data pipelines using infrastructure as code and CI/CD techniques

  • Familiarity and ability to architect, design, and build architectures that conform with Well Architected design principals

  • This is a hands-on engineering position and requires the ability to proficiently and predictably build and test AWS resources required to implement a highly available, multi-region data pipeline

  • Ability to proficiently build in Amazon Web Services (AWS) GovCloud using Amazon S3, Amazon RDS SQL Server, DynamoDB, AWS Lambda, Amazon Simple Notification Service, AWS Step Functions, AWS EventBridge, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, Python, and/or related tools

  • All Infrastructure and Code deliverables will be implemented using AWS CDK, Typescript, and a GitLab CI/CD pipeline; Proficiency with these technologies is required

What Would Be Nice To Have :

· AWS Solution Architect Associate certification

· AWS Data Analytics Specialty certification

· AWS Database Specialty certification

The annual salary range for this position is $104,200.00-$156,300.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
