What You’ll Be Doing:
Evolent Health is looking for an Associate Director to join the Implementation team responsible for project management with our partner health plans and risk-bearing provider organizations. This position is responsible for program management of large-scale enterprise strategic programs that transform the way Evolent operates, competes in the market and achieves our bold mission.
Associate Director responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Set and continually manage program expectations with team members and other stakeholders, tailoring communication to various audience levels
Provide leadership and guidance to project managers and functional teams leading program workstreams by providing direction and constructive feedback
Define, implement, and manage program standards (e.g. risk/issue management, project planning, etc.) and adapt as needed
Serve as collaboration catalyst amongst the key functional areas and technical leads
Demonstrate solution-oriented mindset and infuse across the project team
Prepare and present executive updates in various forms such as dashboard, steering committee presentation, etc.
Inspire and motivate the program team by embodying Evolent’s mission and values
Use expert knowledge and negotiation skills to effectively influence all project and non-project stakeholders including senior executive leaders
Project Planning and Execution
Define scope, goals, and deliverables that support business strategy in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders
Take accountability and ownership for delivering the end-to-end program, always operating with integrity
Partner with executive leaders to define, set and manage key project success measures
Define, implement, and manage program governance across a geographically diverse organization
Synthesize information from various sources and evaluate criticality to the program for identification of next steps or escalation
Support project workstreams when roadblocks are encountered and aid in successful removal of obstacles (escalating where appropriate)
Perform program closing activities to ensure a seamless transition to business owners in addition to gathering lessons learned for continuous improvement
Process and Procedure Standardization
Support development and maintenance of standardized project management tools and templates used by staff project managers
Work collaboratively with the PMO, project managers and leadership to develop best practices
Modify standards and processes as necessary to support the business goals of the organization and socialize changes
Demonstrate best practices through the use and support of department tools and processes
The Experience You’ll Need (Required):
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
5+ years of project management experience
Minimum 1+ year program management experience
Proven ability to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously
Proven ability to build and implement standardized processes across teams
Strong foundational project management skills (project planning, risk mitigation, etc.) and ability to adapt to program specific needs
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
Extremely strong collaboration skills, having demonstrated an ability to identify, communicate and manage risks in a dynamic environment
Advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, PowerPoint, and OneNote
Finishing Touches (Preferred):
Healthcare (good) or health plan (better) experience
Experience working with virtual team members
Experience with JIRA and Confluence
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
Experience working with Clarizen
Lean Six Sigma Yellow or Green Belt
Currently, Evolent employees work remotely temporarily due to COVID-19. As such, we require that all employees have the following technical capability at their home: High speed internet over 10 MBPS and, specifically for all call center employees, the ability to plug in directly to the home internet router. These at-home technical requirements are subject to change with any scheduled re-opening of our office locations.

Compensation Range: The typical range of employees within the compensation grade of this position is $70,000 - $90,000. Salaries are determined by the skill set required for the position and commensurate with experience and may vary above and below the stated amounts.
