Overview of Job Function:

The Analytics Consultant works in our Branch Workforce Solutions division and is a member of a team that delivers consulting and analytics projects to our retail banking customers. The Analytics Consultant is responsible for conducting on-site observations, using programming and analytical skills to sort through large amounts of information and data sets, developing insights from the data, supporting recommendations to suggest business process changes, and creating reports and presentations.

Principal Duties and Essential Responsibilities:

  • Conduct observations at customer site to gather data

  • Organize, parse, query and analyze large data sets using SQL.

  • Be able to automate data processes whenever possible.

  • Perform data clean-up; identify data discrepancies; generate basic descriptive statistics.

  • Perform data aggregation, summarization and perform statistical analysis.

  • Generate charts and views showing trends, correlations.

  • Develop reports (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) to document analysis and results and provide recommendations for customers.

  • Participate in customer meetings related to project design, analysis approach, and results reporting and presentations.

  • Contribute ideas and effort to improve internal processes, enhance existing solutions and services, and create new/improved offerings.

  • Manage day-to-day project communication tasks involving sending or receiving customer data or information and organize project tasks in support of the project leader.

    Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Finance, Mathematics, or related discipline or equivalent work experience

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in consulting or with analyzing data

  • Experience with relational databases, particularly MS SQL Server

  • Experience with statistics including hypothesis testing and regression analysis

  • Skilled in data analysis, manipulation, and summarization tasks used in analytical engagements

  • Strong problem-solving skills

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment with demanding project schedules

  • Business acumen and strong written and oral communications skills

  • Travel is estimated at up to 25% and may be higher at times given project schedules.

  • Successful completion of a background screening process including, but not limited to, employment verifications, criminal search, OFAC, SS Verification, as well as credit and drug screening, where applicable and in accordance with federal and local regulations.

    Preferred Requirements:

  • Master's Degree in related discipline

  • Experience in the Financial Services/Banking industry

  • Consulting experience

  • Experience in one procedural, object-oriented language (e.g. Python, C#, VBA)

  • Experience in contributing to project design decisions

  • Experience in generating ideas in analysis approach and data visualization

  • Understanding of industrial engineering principles such as process mapping and optimization, lean manufacturing, six sigma, etc.
