What You’ll Be Doing

The Clinical Analyst will work on a team dedicated to analysis & reporting associated with Evolent’s clinical services (i.e. utilization management, care management, appeals & grievances).

  • Conducting analyses and developing actionable reports on diverse projects and problems related to prior authorizations, member/provider appeals and grievances, and care management programming.

  • For example, the analyst may develop reports that assess turnaround time of authorization requests, or analyze trends in auth denial rates and appeal overturns by provider and procedure code

  • Using SQL and/or SAS programming skills to develop reports and analytics capabilities to enhance our standard suite of medical management reporting and clinical analyses

  • Partnering with internal stakeholders to determine how to measure and report on key operational and performance for clinical services

The Analyst will have the opportunity to shape team culture and operating norms as a result of the fast-paced nature of a new, high-growth organization.

The Experience You’ll Need (Required)

  • 1-3 years of professional experience including recent work with SQL, or SAS (SQL preferred) or graduate school level experience in the same focus areas laid out above

  • 1-3 years of advanced Microsoft Excel experience

  • BS or BA in Public Health, Epidemiology, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science or a comparable program with a quantitative emphasis

  • Experience in an analytics role at a health plan, consulting firm, hospital system or other healthcare related experience

  • Independent thinker with the ability to multitask and manage multiple projects with varying timelines

  • Willingness to develop and explore new approaches, adapt, and execute quickly and be comfortable with ambiguous project outlines

  • Collaborative working style with the ability to work across different organizations and personalities

  • Strong analytical abilities, with track record of identifying insights from quantitative and qualitative data

  • Excellent communication skills, demonstrates professionalism and excels at distilling complex data into digestible messages for the client

Finishing Touches (Preferred)

  • Experience working with utilization management data is strongly preferred

  • Experience using Microstrategy or a similar BI tool to develop new reports.

  • Growth mindset with a desire to expand SAS/SQL technical skills, health care knowledge and mastering new BI applications for reporting

Currently, Evolent employees work remotely temporarily due to COVID-19. The typical range of employees within the compensation grade of this position is . Salaries are determined by the skill set required for the position and commensurate with experience and may vary above and below the stated amounts.
