Job Overview/Summary

Clorox is seeking a Manufacturing Leader for a Packaging Supervisor role. The individual will need a track record of success, in a fast paced manufacturing and distribution environment. Additional skills include developing people, leading safety, improving quality and service, delivering cost results, launching new product introductions, managing change, and driving continuous improvement using TPM methodology.

The facility operates 24/7 with a team of 185 hourly associates and 13 salaried employees, and produces cat litter products under the Scoop Away and Fresh Step brand names. This position will have responsibility over a sub-area within the Packaging Department, leads a team of 30-40 people, and reports to the Spring Hill Packaging Manager. The Packaging Supervisor works closely with the WCO, Maintenance, and Engineering teams to deliver results.

Key Responsibilities

People and Leadership

  • Demonstrates leadership behavior with a high degree of EQ; acting as a liaison with upstream and downstream customers.

  • Owns the long-term strategy of their area of the department, and is able to effectively communicate this vision to the team.

  • Leads the plant packaging teams through clear direction, mentoring and coaching.

  • Mentors and develops direct reports in leadership and behaviors that build trust. Builds a culture of empowered, highly capable, and enthusiastic business owners.

  • Key advocate for WCO and standard processes becoming the way we do our work.

Safety and Core Manufacturing Objectives

  • Seen as a safety leader who demonstrates through their behaviors that "Safety is a Core Value".

  • Responsible for implementing key plant initiatives as developed in our multi-year plan (Journey Map).

  • Accountable for the performance of their team, and to meeting the plant's operating goals.

  • Leads the safety deliverables in packaging, strong advocate of measures, metrics, and participation.

  • Responsible for cost savings initiatives in the packaging department while helping to reduce plant spending.

  • Responsible for meeting the departments budgeted numbers.

Business Ownership/Plant Strategies

  • Provides solid input and insight to the team on business and department needs and proposals.

  • Develops a vision for the future.

  • Support and drives regulatory compliance.

World Class Operations

  • WCO department leadership.

  • Proactively leverage WCO resources and tools to achieve operational improvements.

  • Provide WCO guidance to others.

Key Skills, Abilities and Experience Required

Minimum Qualifications :

  • High School Diploma or GED from and accredited institution

  • Position will require the candidate to be in a manufacturing environment with rotating equipment, elevated surfaces, temperature variations etc.

  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelors' degree from an accredited institution

  • Operational technical experience

  • 3 years of operational experience in a manufacturing environment

  • 2 years of leadership experience

  • Team facilitation and consensus building working thru engagement of various levels of the organization

  • Excellent oral/written communication and people skills

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.

  • Desire to move upward and relocate within Clorox

  • Exposure to World Class Manufacturing, Lean, or 6 Sigma is a plus.

  • Willingness and ability to work evenings and weekends as business needs dictate
