The Behavioral Health Technician serves a vital role in the day-to-day operations. He/she is the primary providers, in supervising and attending to the safety and daily needs of the clients, while maintaining a therapeutic environment. As an essential employee in medical or child care you will help make a difference for youth everyday who have been through trauma and who struggle with behavioral health challenges.

Behavioral Health Technicians (BHT) make a difference every day for youth who have been through trauma and who struggle with behavioral health challenges. Responsibilities of the Behavioral Health Tech:

  • Supervises and monitors youth at all times.
  • Serves as an adult role model and a source of feedback to the youth.
  • Provides positive interaction with the youth and demonstrates appropriate de- escalation techniques.
  • Responsible for keeping Residential Homes safe, clean, and orderly.
  • Administers prescribed medication, documents, and observes its effects.
  • Demonstrates professional ethics, boundaries, and confidentiality with the youth.
  • Documents significant behaviors and contact with youth.
  • Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills/ability to work as a team.

Requirements/ Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or general education (GED) from an accredited high school
  • Valid driver license
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
