Provides direct instruction specifically to percussion instrumentalists in grades 6-12 during regular class one day per week. Facilitates 6th, 7th, and 8th grade percussion introductions and auditions with assistance from directors. Rehearses drumline and percussion ensemble during “0-Hour” on Wednesday mornings. Takes responsibility for all drumline teaching during mini-camp. May assist in music selection. Current negotiated supplemental $3,906.ResponsibilityResponsibilities include: working under direct supervision using standardized practices and/or methods; directing other persons within a small work unit; and tracking budget expenditures. Utilization of resources from other work units is often required to perform the job's functions. There is some opportunity to significantly impact the organization’s services.Working EnvironmentClassroom environment. Dexterity of hands and fingers to play various percussion instruments. Seeing to read music and observe performances. Hearing and speaking to listen to music and exchange information. Sitting for extended periods of time. Generally the job requires 90% standing, 5% walking, and 5% sitting. This job is performed in a generally clean and healthy environment.Reports To Instrumental Music Teacher(s) and Building Principal(s)Supervises No supervisory responsibilitiesEducation Complete 48 hours at an institution of higher education, or Obtain an associate’s, or higher, degree, or High School diploma or equivalent and pass a State approved assessmentQualifications Must be able to read music.
