Description/Job Summary
PRODUCTION OPERATOR - Openings on all shifts (8 am to 4pm, 4pm to 12am and 12am to 8am) varied days off
$13.00 per hour to start
Up to $2.00 more per hour for 4pm to 12am and 12am to 8am shifts
Step Progression Plans allow for pay increases based upon the ability to learn new tasks.
Operators are responsible for the quality production of trash can liners - on the job training will be provided
Ability to make boxes if required, finish in a timely manner, and keep production line properly supplied.
Ability to keep color meters filled with the proper material and empties color meter properly when changing colors.
Stacks finished goods properly on pallets, places proper protective wrapping for storage, and completes pallet tag before sending to the finished good staging area.
Properly ties off a finished pallet of roll stock
Recording finished goods produced on each pallet using pallet count sheets
Ability to read production schedule. Provides information on what will be produced next on the extruder l
Assist in putting up a production extruder line
Basics of threading bag machines and separators
Basics of ON/OFF switches on bag machine and separator
Weigh and record all scrap properly for assigned lines
Maintains assigned work area and keeps it clean and orderly.
Follows company safety guidelines, policies and procedures. Examples to include:
Proper lifting techniques
Uses the correct tools for the job i.e. safety knife/protective gloves
Shutting down machinery when necessary
Wears all required personal protective equipment; safety shoes, glasses and hearing protection.
Maintains good attendance to work
Attends monthly plant huddle meetings
Assists co-workers when needed
Preferred Skills
Knowledge:
Mechanical - Knowledge of machines and tools, including their uses.
Safety and Security - Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote safe operations.
Production and Processing - Knowledge of materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacturing of goods.
Mathematics - Knowledge of arithmetic. ( multiplication, division, addition, subtraction and measurements)
English Language Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
Preferred Education
Experience and Education:
* * Education* - Prefer High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate)
- Experience - Prefer previous work experience with machines in a manufacturing setting.
