Description/Job Summary

*PROJECT ENGINEER

Reports to: VP of Operations FLSA Status: Exempt *

Responsibilities:

  • Develops project objectives by reviewing proposals and plans

  • Determines equipment specifications by studying product design, customer requirements and performance standards

  • Determines project schedules, coordinates construction plans and monitors progress

  • Prepares project cost estimates and controls costs using quote requests and expenditure approvals

  • Analyzes competitive bids and recommends vendors based on overall costs and capabilities

  • Prepares project status and spending summary reports

  • Monitors compliance to applicable safety standards, codes, industry practices, performance standards and specifications

  • Requests resources as needed, assigns responsibilities and mentors project teams

  • Establishes effect communications with other project participants and provides technical support and assistance as needed

Job Requirements:

  • Proven working experience as a project engineer, preferably in plastic processing, preferably in blown film extrusion

  • Excellent knowledge of design and visualizations software such as AutoCAD

  • Advanced MS Office Skills

  • Familiarity with rules, regulations, best practices and performances standards

  • Ability to work with multiple discipline projects

  • Project management and supervision skills

  • Decision making ability and leadership skills

  • Time management and organization skills

Experience and Education

  • BS degree in Engineering or relevant field
