Salary Range: \$17.74 \$22.17

POSITION SUMMARY\ Under the supervision of the Lieutenant Detective, the Investigative Analyst plays a critical role in supporting law enforcement efforts by utilizing gathered information to establish crime patterns, identify suspects, and provide real-time intelligence to aid in crime prevention and investigations. Operating within a fast-paced office environment, this position requires the ability to monitor multiple sources simultaneously, comprehend information quickly, and communicate effectively with law enforcement officers and dispatchers.\ DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES\ Utilize information gathered by officers to establish crime patterns and methods, aiding in the identification of subjects.\ Monitor active calls for service and provide real-time crime and intelligence information.\ Relay potential hazards to law enforcement officers and maintain statistics and daily production logs.\ Assist patrol and investigative units with calls for service and monitor threats to schools, providing immediate notification regarding active assailants or threats.\ Attend trainings and briefings to stay updated on relevant procedures and protocols.\ Utilize a variety of databases and social media platforms for investigative purposes.\ Monitor criminal offenders and communicate via portable radio with law enforcement officers and the Emergency Communications Center.\ Monitor crime tips and assist in identifying suspicious criminal activity.\ Operate and monitor internal and external surveillance cameras and state-of-the-art surveillance programs.\ Ensure all components of the real-time crime center surveillance equipment are operating according to expected standards and protocols.

Possess a thorough, working knowledge, and routinely demonstrate adherence to, established city and department policies and procedures.\ Ability to respond to inquiries from the public, businesses, community groups and media outlets regarding crime activity, trends and patterns.\ Must possess the ability to conduct complex analytical and statistical analysis processes; analytical writing skills and advanced computer literacy skills.\ Ability to speak and communicate effectively in public settings; represent the police department through the presentation of community education and departmental trainings and briefings, including the development and delivery of orientation programs for police personnel and other staff on crime analysis functions.\ Ability to maintain absolute discretion and confidentiality related to criminal cases, criminal history record information, and other sensitive or protected information related to criminal and investigative matters.\ Kn wledge of and adherence to dissemination requirements for intelligence records collection, dissemination, retention and purging; in accordance with the U.S.C. 28 CFR part 23, knowledge of and adherence to department policies and procedures regarding the dissemination of records to outside sources and recipients.\ Possess abstract and logical reasoning skills; analytical problem-solving skills; creative problem-solving skills and strong memory retention skills.\ Advanced knowledge of a number of software programs and databases (including, but not limited to, ArcGIS, Microsoft Access, Microsoft Excel, New World records management system (preferred but not required), various other intelligence applications, spreadsheets, word processing, report management databases and etc.), combined with independent initiative and sound judgment in the selection of the appropriate analytical methods and procedures employed.\ Ability to compile information, analyze findings, make appropriate interpretations, and write comprehensive intelligence reports based on data findings.\ Ability to draft correspondence and presentation materials for internal and external use for a broad range of audiences and end users including patrol, supervisory and command staff of the police department,
