Welding Faculty

Labette Community College invites applications to occupy one (1) full-time Faculty position for our Welding Department to begin in August 2024. This position is based at the Workforce Training Center located in Parsons, KS.

The successful candidate will possess a thorough knowledge of the discipline required to share in the teaching of post-secondary students. The faculty member will provide classroom instruction, advise students on class scheduling and academic progress; participate in curriculum revision; and complete program assessment. The successful candidate will possess a thorough knowledge of the discipline required to share in the teaching of secondary and post-secondary students. The Welding instructor is responsible for teaching in the classroom and lab environment. Welding processes to be taught include, but are not limited to, GTAW (Gas Tungsten Arc Welding), GMAW (Gas Metal Arc Welding), SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding), and Metal Fabrication both in the basic and advanced processes.

The ideal candidate will possess a Master\'s in Career Technical Education or have other credentials (business and industry experience (B&I), B&I recognized certifications, etc.) and a strong desire for teaching and community engagement. Faculty responsibilities encompass all courses assigned, committees assigned, or other activities required or agreed upon between faculty members and administration as specified in the LCC Master Agreement and LCC Policy/Procedures Manual.

Four (4) day instructional class schedules. Supplemental insurance is also offered.

The salary range is based on education and experience as governed by the Master Agreement. This can be found at www.labette.edu/hr in the Policy and Procedures manual.
