NDT Penetrant Inspector
NDT Penetrant Inspector evaluates manufactured parts for minor surface cracks and indications of surface imperfections or defects by use of Liquid Penetrant inspection

Job Summary
Sprays, brushes, or dips part in liquid penetrant
Allows penetrant to dwell on parts for specified period of time
Performs penetrant final rinse with water spray
Places parts in development tank for allotted time
Evaluates parts under UV light to detect minor surface cracks and/or indications of surface imperfections or defects under the supervision of a NDT level 2 or 3
Performs post penetrant cleaning of parts before forwarding on to next process/department
Accurately records required information in customer required log books
Responsible for the proper handling and management of hazardous waste generated in their work area
Must be willing and able to work overtime as necessary
Acceptable attendance is an essential function of the position
Performs other duties as assigned or required by the position
Skills & Qualifications
Required Skills & Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Six to Twelve months related experience and/or training preferred.
Requires Level II training certification to work independently.
Ability to read and interpret customer specifications/drawings/prints/etc

High school diploma or equivalent required
Three to six months related experience and/or training preferred
Requires level II training certification to work independently
Ability to use measuring instruments including but not limited to dial calipers, dial micrometers, and light meter
Awareness of calibration certification of equipment
Must be able to comply with specific safety policies of the location and area
Read and understand internal procedures and policies
Understand and follow through on both verbal and written instructions
Team oriented with a continuous improvement outlook
Basic Computer Skills - able to learn new screens, reports, functions and simple software programs with assistance
Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
Annual eye exam is required
Regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls and reach with hands and arms
Must be able to communicate effectively
Annual baseline hearing test is required
Frequently required to stoop, kneel, or crouch
Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
Annual eye exam is required

Work Environment and Safety Equipment Required
Working conditions are: 100% manufacturing environment.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals.
The employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and airborne particles.
Noise level is usually moderate.
Safety glasses (ANSI Z87 compliant) required in all manufacturing areas.
Hearing protection must be worn in designated areas.
Fully enclosed shoes of solid, leather construction with a steel or composite toe cap (ANSI Z41 compliant) must be worn in all manufacturing areas.
