Position Goal:Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant is responsible for the planning, implementing, of OT services for children with disabilities. COTAs will work closely with students and residential staff and be a member of the Clinical Services Team.
Reports to:Clinical Director
General Responsibilities:
- Provide group therapy focused on self care and independent living skills in the residential environment
- Be part of the residential therapist team to support both children and staff
- Be part of the school COTA team and meet monthly with Director of OT for guidance on occupational therapy skills
- Assist the school COTA team with developing sensory programming and individualized sensory supports for continuity across school and residential settings
- Assist with teaching staff how to help children become more independent with their activities of daily living
- Monitor and update our sensory space in the residential environment
- Willingness to provide day-to-day instruction /support to students with special needs.
Terms:
- Hours: 10am- 6pm Sunday through Thursday
