Test Engineer

Pay: \$60-65k \| Flexible Schedule

SUMMARY:

Responsible for developing, evaluating and maintaining functions related to testing of products at the circuit card assembly, module, unit, and cabinet levels.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Testing

  • Formulate test requirements with key stakeholders.
  • Enhance testing methods, philosophies, and processes.
  • Create testing processes for a variety of new & existing products.
  • Write test procedures, and create documentation for written test procedures.
  • Incorporate new learnings, research, and industry best practices into the companys testing portfolio.
  • Ensure modernization of test procedures, and test fixture construction in an on-going basis.
  • Utilize a variety of manual and automated test processes & procedures.

Subject Matter Expertise (SME)

  • Support legacy, current, and new product development.
  • Recommend and develop test philosophy and procedures on new products.
  • Provides technical assistance in manufacturing test, and inspection areas.
  • Support all stages of product lifecycle; from conceptual design through production hand-off.
  • Develop, design, and oversee test procedures, test fixtures, and test construction in collaboration with other departments and engineers, serving as the technical liaison between manufacturing and engineering for manufacturing test activities.
  • Analyze processes, products, and inspection records, to evaluate opportunities for improvement.
  • Anticipate, identify, and correct potential defects, based on standard or accepted technical practices.
  • Provide troubleshooting support, recurring problem detection, root cause analysis and resolution, for manufacturing test issues.
  • Recommend design attributes and features required to make the product repeatably testable and easy to troubleshoot with appropriate levels of automation where needed.
  • Serve as a technical liaison for software test activities, ranging from change impact analysis for software test issues, to new product development, to RF circuit design-simulation-troubleshooting, etc.

Reporting, Standards, & Compliance

  • Ensure adherence to all applicable design assurance standards and processes within the department.

{=html} <!-- --> - Perform development in accordance with Indra internal processes, including but not limited to: development in secure and high quality-standard environments (ex: Microsoft GCC High, NIST, ISO, FAA, DoD, etc.) and adhering to any required design assurance processes (ex: DO178C, DO278A, or similar, etc.). - Follow applicable customer driven processes as required.

{=html} <!-- --> - Prepare evaluation reports, analyze discrepancies, and make recommendations for improvements to products, test equipment, and procedures, improving productivity and reducing flowtime. - Ensure compliant documentation is maintained on all test procedures at all times maintaining systems level functional hardware/software tests, inventory of manufacturing test fixtures (correlation, troubleshooting, repair, etc.)

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • General knowledge of: Multilateration (Hyperbolic Positioning, Time Difference of Arrival, etc.), test development with RF based products, RF Theory, RF Circuits, and development of appropriate testing techniques, Radio Mobile Coverage Modeling, Secondary Surveillance Radars, and/or Electrical Engineering standards & specifications.
  • Circuit design, simulation, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with six-sigma tools and techniques (e.g., FMEA, DOE, SPC, DFSS, etc.).

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • B chelors from an ABET accredited College or University in Electrical Engineering or Electronics Engineering Technology
  • 0-2+ years experience in Electronics Testing

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to pass a U.S. government background check investigation.
  • Proof of U.S. Citizenship or US Permanent Residency is a requirement for this position.
  • May be required to travel both domestically and/or internationally on an as needed basis.
  • Lift, operate, and instruct others in the use of tools & test equipment.
  • Independently construct and evaluate prototypes using hand and power tools.
