The Test Engineering organization at the National Security Campus (NSC) is a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) facility managed and operated by Honeywell Federal Manufacturing & Technology (FM&T). Our primary business is to manufacture sophisticated mechanical, electronic, and engineered material components for our nation’s defense system. Our goal is to seek innovative solutions that surpass our customers’ expectations. To accomplish this, we research, develop, and deploy some of the most advanced design and manufacturing technologies in use in the United States today.
Plans, organizes, coordinates, and manages the overall activities of a technical work unit or team consisting of engineers, scientists and other qualified individuals
Balances the potentially competing needs of multiple customers
Champions initiatives to resolve critical processes and technological-related issues in the materials area
Technology vision, strategy and Business management oversight; innovations and technological advances that improve quality, reduce flow-time, and improve productivity
Cultivate career development of staff members through coaching, training, performance evaluations and appropriate
job assignments; maintain technical competence and leadership, and establish management succession
Strong customer interface skills and responsiveness to meet customer needs
Team and negotiation skills with multiple functional disciplines to achieve performance goals and business improvements
Effective communication with all levels of FM&T management and staff, design partners, and customers
Oversight to ensure individual project accomplishments and overall work unit effectiveness is achieved relative to committed objectives
Provide leadership for staff development and holds them accountable to meet personal and business objectives
You Must Have:
US citizenship in order to obtain and maintain US Dept of Energy ""Q"" level security clearance
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or appropriate technical field
Minimum of seven years’ experience in engineering or science based field of study
Advanced degree preferred
Demonstrated proven leadership and teaming skills
Six Sigma Black Belt or Lean Expert certification a plus
Prefer ten or more years of progressive engineering experience and/or a scientific field
Ability to travel up to 10%
Automated Tester Equipment (ATE), Environmental Testing, Software Architecture, or Test Design
Experience in supporting customers that demand high levels of quality and ability to partner with customers for mutual benefit
Ability to positively influence others, create a passion for excellence, and execute multiple projects while meeting customer expectations
