T-Mobile Sr Developer, Software in Overland Park, Kansas

Designs and develops internal and external business systems/applications, systems interfaces, and databases as required to deliver new systems functionality supporting corporate business objectives. The Sr. Developer leads moderately complex projects, often mentoring and providing guidance to team members at an Associate Developer or Developer level, and will work under the guidance of a Principal Developer on complex projects.

What you’ll do in your role.

Position Purpose

– Designs and develops web, mobile and user interface (UI) applications to deliver new systems functionality supporting corporate business objectives.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

– Translate business, and functional requirements into documented technical specifications.

– Utilize development skills to build software and unit test new systems functionality per technical specifications, with deliverables to include builds and releases.

– Develop support documentation as required by the application support teams for acceptance of systems changes into production.

– Build and unit test production deployment packages with implementation plans for scheduled systems enhancements.

– Participate in reviews (walkthroughs) of technical specifications and software with other members of the technical team.

– Communicate design, requirements, functionality, and limitations of systems/applications.

Secondary Duties and Responsibilities

– Utilize departmental Software Development Life Cycle methodology (SDLC) as a guide for development activities.

– Provide on call and after hours support as required for releases and production outages.

– Meet project schedules by providing accurate estimates of effort required for development deliverables, by communicating updates on project progress to development and project management, and by escalating issues which may affect project success to management.

– Maintain technical skills and expertise through continuing education and training.

– Collaborate/partner with other teams including Business Teams, Enterprise Testing, Release Management, Project Management, and Application Support for successful delivery of systems enhancements.

The experience you’ll bring.

Minimum 5 Years experience with Web, eCommerce, and UI software development (required).

– Minimum 5 years experience with JavaScript, jQuery, Angular, CSS, XML, HTML, and XHTML (required).

– Minimum 3 years experience with building APIs using SOAP or REST protocols and integrating with backend systems/databases (required).

– Minimum 3 years experience developing UI components with any Content Management Systems (CMS) such as Adobe AEM (required).

– Expert level knowledge in software engineering and object oriented development (required).

– Minimum 5 years experience with telecom or retail website software development (preferred).

– Minimum 5 years experience with Databases such as SQL Server or Oracle (preferred).

– Intermediate level knowledge of HTML 5 and mobile web development (preferred).

  • At least 18 years of age

  • Legally authorized to work in the United States

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • T-Mobile requires all employees in this position to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 prior to starting work.
