In Kansas City, Honeywell Federal Manufacturing & Technologies (FM&T) manages and operates the U.S. Department of Energy/National Nuclear Security Administration’s (NNSA) Kansas City National Security Campus. This state-of-the-art engineering, manufacturing and sourcing facility produces a wide array of intricate components to deliver trusted national security products and government services primarily for the NNSA. This position will be in Kansas City, MO


  • Performs financial/accounting services supporting the cost management of inventory

  • Responsible for the proper recording, accounting, and cost control of the productive and non-productive inventories

  • Ensures proper account distributions are established within the PeopleSoft application so transactions are correctly recorded in the general ledger

  • Maintains the cost management module within the application

  • Prepares and submits assigned journal entries and account reconciliations

  • Maintains accuracy of the financial systems and proposes corrections as necessary.

  • Recommends accounting treatment of non-routine business transactions, performs ad-hoc analysis and completes special projects

  • Serves as a consultant and external spokesperson for the Finance organization on major matters pertaining to policies, plans and objectives

  • Coordinates the development and maintenance of internal procedures and work instructions for accounting and/or budget activities

  • Helps ensure a sound internal control environment exists

  • Performs special assignments or assigned projects and provides results to management

  • Coordinates the training of personnel in various accounting activities

  • Serves as liaison to management in the absence of supervision

  • May perform other duties as required


  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field at an accredited university

  • Minimum of 3 years of Accounting/Finance experience

  • In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 7 years Honeywell experience or Accounting/Finance experience


  • Proficiency in ERP/MRP inventory application & standard inventory costing preferred

  • Ability to work with multiple teams of people and inspire those teams to work together to reach a common goal

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Proficient in MS Office applications (PowerPoint, Excel and Word)

  • Excellent communication skills both oral and written

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Advanced level of proficiency applying advanced principles, theories and concepts. Contributes to the development of new principles and concepts
