We’re looking for a dynamic Senior Superintendent with an uncompromising commitment to safety and quality to join our Project Delivery and Construction team in the Midwest.
Based out of Kansas City, you will lead construction site activities, including oversight of trade partners, and management of daily field operations. We’ll rely on you for oversite of work progress, subcontractor labor, and coordination between trades. Your focus will ensure subcontractor and vendor work is completed safely and in compliance with the contract documents. You’ll also collect and assemble on-site testing and inspection reports along with developing construction completion records for close-out documentation which will be turned over to our client and IPS Commissioning/Validation team. We will rely on you to make periodic site inspections, perform evaluations and report to project team.
As a member of a collaborative team, you’ll work with leadership and our construction services team to conduct pre-bid job site visits and participate in scope review / de-scope meetings. You’ll provide support in the development and maintenance of preconstruction, construction, and closeout execution plans; project scopes of work; budgets; and schedules. You will develop a working knowledge of the project budget for assigned trades and identify exceptions to the project budget throughout execution of the project. As changes are needed, you’ll develop change control documentation. You’ll ensure that all submittals meet project requirements and are distributed, reviewed, and stored. Other responsibilities will include constructability reviews, evaluation of vendor and subcontractor invoices, and evaluating requests for payment against the project schedule.
As the Senior Superintendent, you’ll provide daily reports of site conditions and review job safety analysis documentation. You’ll regularly interact with clients on site, listening to their needs, and positively demonstrating the IPS focus on client experience. You’ll build strong relationships as you work with clients to provide solutions, all while building life impacting facilities.

IPS has a flexible work environment which allows you to work from home or the Kansas City area office when not working directly on a project site. If projects are local, travel will be minimal; however, it’s anticipated that project locations will vary throughout the Midwest region and field assignments may be long-term.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline or an equivalent technical degree preferred.
Experience in a construction superintendent role on large projects with various trades.
Broad understanding on MEP systems including but not limited to process piping, mechanical systems, HVAC, and electrical equipment / distribution.
Understanding of pharmaceutical, bio-tech and/or animal health facilities preferred
Experience working directly with clients on site
This position will require the individual to be located near assigned client project sites. Overnight travel or staying in the city of Client’s location for an extended period of time is likely. Please review IPS Travel Policy. Position will visit Client sites and will be required to adhere to stated safety rules. Position will visit construction sites and will be required to take site safety training and adhere to site safety rules.
