Aston Carter Senior Accountant in Overland Park, Kansas
The role of Senior Accountant will be to support internal month-end close processes for the corporate entities of the company, in addition to certain accounting processes that support all operating companies. Additionally, the Senior Accountant will play an active role in the preparation of the quarterly and annual Form 10-Q and Form 10-K, respectively. The Senior Accountant will also prepare reports and analyze financial information to ensure the accuracy of information reported to management and regulatory agencies.
Performs advanced research and/or specialized analysis of appropriate GAAP accounting treatment and financial statement reporting/presentation
Provides complete, accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and SEC reporting requirements
Provides complete maintenance of financial accounting records for monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting requirements for corporate entities, including account reconciliations
Assists with the preparation of consolidated financial statements for the entity
Assists with internal and external audit requests
Responsible for the monthly analysis of financial statement results
Assist with the preparation of the quarterly Form 10-Q and Annual Form 10-K
Prepare various external reports required on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis. Coordinate the accumulation of necessary financial data from other departments ensuring it is accurate and timely for report completion
Assist with Sarbanes Oxley requirements to ensure effective internal control over financial reporting, including documentation of business processes and direct responsibility for controls
Assist with ad-hoc requests as needed
Participate in the continued company-wide effort to upgrade information systems
Evaluate existing processes and procedures to recommend additions, enhancements, and/or modifications to increase efficiency and/or improve accuracy, as needed
Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance or related field
Two to four years of professional accounting experience, with public accounting experience comprising two of those years
Knowledge of current GAAP accounting and financial matters
