Cardiac Care nurses are the master coordinators of the unit, juggling care for their patients while keeping the entire health care team on the same page. They have high-level critical thinking skills, vast clinical knowledge, and are able to stay calm under pressure.
About this unit: * 6 licensed bed Cardiac Care Unit and would float to 53 licensed bed Cardiac Telemetry Unit * Typical length of stay 1-2 days * RN to patient ratio 1:2/3 * Common diagnosis: cath lab recovery/next day discharge (procedures: SVT Ablations, Watchman procedures, chest pain, Open Heart etc...) * Opportunity for professional growth and development * Dedicated team and committed to maintaining excellence in care of the cardiac patient through continuing education and ongoing professional development Responsibilities:
Under the general direction of the Director, coordinates and provides patient care and assumes individual responsibility and accountability for the provision of nursing care.
Nursing care is provided in accordance with hospital policies and procedures, applicable state Nursing Practice Acts, ANA Standards of Practice, and the generic and unit structure standards.
Adult patients between 18 to 64 years; and geriatric patients 65 years and older.
What Qualifications You Will Need * Graduate of school of nursing required. BSN preferred. * Currently licensed as a registered professional nurse in the state(s) of practice and/or has an active compact license, in accordance with law and regulation. * Ability to achieve and maintain BCLS certification required. ACLS certification required within 90 days of hire. * No previous experience required other than clinical rotations required as part of the degree completion. Prior experience in a similar size facility with similar services provided is preferred.
