The successful candidate will be responsible for providing agronomic expertise and leadership to the field sales team. The candidate will provide technical consultation to our customers, the sales and marketing team, as well as manage field trial research with academics and contract resource organizations. Reporting to the Area Business Manager, the candidate will ensure that the field sales team is trained on both current and future products, as well as directing appropriate agronomy training of customers and local centers of influence. The successful candidate’s duties will also include presenting information to customers on the technical aspects of crop nutrition products, providing infield support to customers and field sales, helping to position current and future products, and collaborating with marketing and product management on product concept ideas. The position will also have involvement in troubleshooting product and process related issues to assure the overall quality and customer experience of the end product.

  • Provide sales team with overall agronomy leadership and expertise, including support and training

  • Train customers and prospects on current, new and future products

  • Product troubleshooting with sales team and customers

  • Manage field trial research with academics and contract research organizations

  • Liaise with researchers, contractors and institutions as they execute portions of the trial program

  • Serve on Product Management crop teams, helping lead new product development, lifecycle strategy and field trail effectiveness

  • Compile field trial data and report internally

  • Lead regional strategy of market development with sales force

  • Speaking engagements with customers and centers of influence

  • Provide support to the Marketing Team on technical information

  • Ability to lead large group trainings and be available for any public relations opportunities

  • Must be willing to travel 50-70% of the time

Education and/or Experience:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Ph.D. or Master’s Degree with 10 years of experiencein the agronomy field, or bachelor’s degree with 15 years of experience


  • Ph.D. with a field trial component in either plant or soil sciences – preferably with experience running field trial programs. Experience in communicating results to others in the company and stakeholders of customers outsideof the company. Holding aCertified Crop Advisor (CCA) license is a plus. Second language skill (Spanish or Portuguese) also an asset.

Language Skills:

Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Second language skill (Spanish or Portuguese) also an asset

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills:
