We are looking for an experienced product manager, thought leader, and motivated individual with great communication skills to work cross-functionally with users, business stakeholders, development teams, and external vendors on some of the most critical requirements and features for data products. The candidate should have deep expertise and a proven track record in data democratization ideally at a SaaS company. The Product Manager will be responsible to ideate and drive cross functional requirements and execution for these initiatives with tight-knit collaboration with data scientists, functional leads, data analysts, and data engineers.

The Data Science Finance Vertical is planning to build a Finance Data Analytics Platform (FDAP) and finance data products. This person should have deep financial domain experience in revenue recognition and reconciliation, recurring revenues, currency and geo market expansion, tax, financial planning and analysis, and headcount forecasting. The goal is to build an FDAP with role-based access for self-service dashboards and predictive analytics serving routine and specialized use cases under the Data Science Finance Vertical.

About the Team

  • Product Managers (PMs) have a strong Data, Technology, and Business background. The Finance PM for Data & Analytics will be responsible for creating a vision and formulating strategy for finance data solutions to enable business outcomes. A person in this role will define product capability and own backlogs (epics, stories) with justification for trade-offs and prioritization decisions and earn buy-in from stakeholders across multiple teams.

  • Provide regular two-way communication with senior management and internal customers regarding status, risks, mitigations, and change control.

  • Disrupt with positive and tangible business outcomes based on the latest industry trends, off-the-shelf solutions, subject matter expertise and thought leadership. Examples of outcomes include but are not limited to revenue retention and growth, revenue recognition and reconciliation, churn management, recurring revenues optimization, automation cost savings through data pipelines.

  • Ensure data products and capabilities are compliant with various local, state, and country specific data regulations.

  • Collaborate on the design, development, maintenance, and delivery/presentation of the Finance Data Analytics Platform (FDAP) and other similar products.

  • Build Advanced Analytics capability to unlock incremental revenue and cost savings opportunities at the enterprise level.

    About You

  • Product management experience taking large scale initiatives from vision to product in data, working with large volumes of data, cross functional technical/business teams, and systems

  • Knowledge of industry standard financial metrics, financial statements, KPIs, self-service reports, and dashboards provided by such tools in the market.

  • Good understanding of the finance domain and end-to-end processes (record-to-report, order-to-cash, peer-to-peer lending), experience working in Financial functions

  • Hands-on experience on at least one Enterprise Business Application, Oracle Financials preferred.

  • Good understanding of software development lifecycle process (SDLC) with an appreciation for maintaining a high-quality bar with low operational overhead

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering or related technical discipline. An MBA is a strong plus.

  • Minimum 10+ years of total experience required. The experience needs to be both technical and product management focused in finance:

  • 5+ years of technical hands-on experience in finance analytics as a data analyst, data engineer or data scientist.

  • 3+ years in a technical product management role in delivering advanced analytics / ML data products

  • Experience using, designing, and building a Finance Analytics tool

  • Hands-on experience with Python, SQL, structured/unstructured data, and data warehouses (such as Snowflake, Databricks, Redshift, MySQL, PostGresSQL, etc.)

  • Experience with Agile Development techniques

  • Comfort with translating ambiguous high-level analytics questions into concrete engineering asks
