Job Summary

At Price Brothers, Human Resources (HR) is focused on understanding what people need and knowing how to provide it. This position supports the HR team in ensuring smooth and efficient business operations. The Payroll & HR Generalist has both administrative and strategic responsibilities, helping to plan and administer important functions, such as payroll processing, talent acquisition, lease program administration and Human Resources Information System (HRIS) management for a multi-state company. This positon must be able to work effectively as a team member, perform day to day transactions and ensure deadlines are met in an accurate manner. Maintain a level of general HR and payroll knowledge to ensure compliance with policies, regulations and procedures. Support Price Brothers Management in pursuit of its mission.

Responsibilities & Duties

Payroll Administration

  • Maintain Complete and Accurate Payroll Files Including Time Data, Payroll Reports, Tax Information, and Supporting Documents

  • Ensure Payroll Compliance with Applicable Federal, State and Local Laws

  • Manage Workflow in HRIS System to Ensure Payroll Transactions are Processed Accurately and Timely

  • Process Off Cycle Manual Checks When Needed in a Timely Manner

  • Reconcile Payroll Prior to Transmission to Validate Data and Reports for Accuracy

  • Work Closely with the Accounting Department to Resolve Inquiries and Reconciliations

  • Perform Bi-Weekly, Quarterly and Year-End Compensation and Tax Reconciliation Audits

  • Partner with the Benefits Department in Maintaining and Auditing Benefits Deductions and Bill Processing

  • Provide Exceptional Customer Service to Employees in the Area of Earnings, Deductions and Taxes as They Relate to Their Pay in an Efficient and Timely Manner

  • Assist in Paid Time Off Administration, Calculations, Written Correspondence with Participants and Data Input

  • Work Cross Functionally with Other Departments on Related Projects when Needed

  • Prepare Relevant Management Reports, Including Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly and Year-End Reports

  • Process All Stages of Employee Life Cycle in HRIS Systems

  • Collaborate with Management, HRIS, External Vendors and Department Personnel to Define, Test and Implement Payroll System Modifications, New Payroll Products and/or Enhancements

  • Train Management and Staff Regarding HRIS and Payroll Processing

Talent Acquisition and Applicant Tracking System (ATS) Administration

  • Work with Outside Organizations and Staffing Agencies to Identify New Talent

  • Attract Talent to the ATS Software Program

  • Review and Analyze Resumes Using the ATS Software Program

  • Scour Job Search Websites for Potential Recruits

  • Respond to Applicant Inquiry Using Industry-Standard Techniques

  • Direct Applicants Through the Recruiting and Hiring Process

  • ATS Product Ownership in Administration, Support and Education (Self and Others)

  • Create, Post and Manage Career Opportunity Advertisements On Both Internal and External Sources

Team Member Lease Program Administration

  • Administer the Rental Program

  • Ensure Compliance and Accuracy in Both the HRIS and Property Management Software System

  • Monitor Trends in order to Recommend Adjustments to the Program and Systems

  • Collaborate with HR Team, Managers and Team Members to Continuously Improve the Program

  • Ensure Accurate Team Member Participation and Program Delivery

  • Design User-Friendly Processes, Guidelines, and Documentation

Human Resources Information System (HRIS) Analysts

  • Oversee Databases, Software, and Computer Systems that the Company Uses to Manage Human Resources

  • Analyzing HRIS Systems, Monitoring Performance, and Resolving Issues

  • Maintain Data Integrity in Systems by Regularly Analyzing Data

  • Optimizing the Performance of HR Systems, Gathering Data, and Making Recommendations Based on Performance Metrics

  • Design New HRIS Processes

  • Design User-Friendly Processes, Guidelines, and Documentation

  • Developing and Implementing New Processes and Systems for Efficient HR Management

Other Administration

  • Responsible for Maintaining a Working Knowledge of Policies and Procedures that Relate to The Human Resource Function

  • Provide Human Resources Department with Support and General Administrative Needs

  • Administer Company Notary Program

  • Facilitate, Monitor and Track 30, 60, 90 and/or Annual Performance Reviews

  • Provide Public Information (I.E., Verification Of Employment, Wages, Etc.) in Accordance with Company Policy, Current Laws, Regulations and Guidelines Governing Such Matters

  • Maintenance of Department Records Including Personnel Files, Payroll Records and Special Projects

  • Assist with Orientation of New Employees and On-Going Training Programs

  • Assist with Benefit Administration

  • Assist with Designing Personnel Forms and Direct the Maintenance of All Personnel Records

  • Special Projects Assigned by Senior and Executive Leadership

  • Responsible for Reporting Unusual or Extraordinary Circumstances

  • Responsible for Courteous, Efficient Response at all Times

  • Maintain an Excellent Customer Service Relationship with Vendors, Clients and Fellow Associates

  • Adhere to Company Personnel and Operational Policies, Procedures and Standards

Education (level and type)

  • Knowledge of Payroll Procedures and Human Resources Normally Acquired by an Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent Work Experience

Required Work Experience

  • Minimum Number of Years: 2 Years

In some or all of the following areas:

  • General Work in Payroll Field

  • Familiarity with HRIS System

Certifications and/or Licenses

  • Valid Driver License Legally Allowing Driving for Work Purposes During Working Hours;

  • Valid Automobile Insurance When Operating a Vehicle for Business Purposes;

  • Any Other Licenses/Certifications Required by a Governing Agencies; Otherwise, None

Continuing Education Courses

  • Education Provided by Payroll Processor or Other Applicable HR Establishments Associated with the Work; Otherwise, None.

Working Conditions

  • Position May Require Work at Other Property Locations (Minimal)

  • Position Will Require the Use of a Personal Vehicle (Minimal)

  • Must Be Willing To Travel Out Of State (Minimal)

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to Tolerate Prolonged Sitting, Standing, Kneeling and Walking for up to Several Hours a Day
