Summary: The position will be responsible for sales and marketing of salt to chemical producers throughout North America. The position will require regular interaction with customers including contract negotiation, resolving day-to-day customer service issues, and new business development. The incumbent will also need to develop a good working relationship with logistics, planning and production staff and be capable of providing information for budgeting and reporting purposes.

Essential Job Functions: Include but are not limited to the following:

  • Sales and marketing of chemical grade salt to existing chloralkali, sodium chlorate and aluminum flux producers throughout North America.

  • Develop and maintain a strong relationship with existing and prospective customers

  • Chemical gross sales responsibilities – North America = $50M.

  • Ensuring shipping schedules and product quality specifications are met by working closely with production, quality and logistics staff

  • Contract negotiation

  • Developing a basic knowledge of the processes used by customers.

  • Investigating new market opportunities.

  • Budgeting, forecasting and regular reporting.

  • Strategic planning

  • Monitoring payment issues.

  • Emotional maturity and confidence.

  • Self-starter with a can do attitude.

  • Proficient in PC skills – Microsoft products, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Business and or Science related field.

  • 10 years of experience in Industrial Sales
