  • Mechanisms Process Engineering is responsible for developing the manufacturing processes necessary for building major electromechanical assemblies, including training of production floor employees, management of work instructions, resolution of production issues and the development of tooling and fixtures required to meet product definition.

  • Performs and coordinates design, development, evaluation, analysis, and/or quality control functions on advanced and complex engineering projects; and develops solutions to technical problems specifically assigned or as they arise by applying advanced mathematical, physical science, and engineering technologies.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assesses process and equipment capabilities and establishes controls.

  • Specifies, initiates, and coordinates acquisition of manufacturing resources and techniques.

  • Independently determines and develops approach to solutions.

You Must Have:

  • U.S. citizenship in order to obtain and maintain U.S. Department of Energy "Q" level security clearance

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial / Aerospace / Chemical / or Manufacturing Engineering from an ABET accredited program, or Bachelor of Science in Physics

  • Five (5) or more years of applied experience in engineering roles in a technical or manufacturing environment

We Value:

  • Advanced degree in engineering or engineering management

  • Seven (7) or more years of experience preferred

  • Experience interacting with and presenting to multiple levels of technical stakeholders and customers

  • Experience connecting design to manufacturing, driving consistency, reliability and producibility

  • Interest in and willingness to undertake a variety of engineering assignments (e.g., product, process, project) through course of career

  • Experience managing interface with vendors; acquisition of COTS materials, components and devices (for some positions)

  • Experience/knowledge with Enterprise Resource and/or Earned Value Management systems

  • Experience coaching and mentoring early in career and/or peer technical employees
