Manage a team that designs, develops, troubleshoots and debugs software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.
As a manager of the software engineering division, you will apply your knowledge of software architecture to manage software development tasks associated with developing, debugging or designing software applications, operating systems and databases according to provided design specifications. Build enhancements within an existing software architecture and occasionally suggest improvements to the architecture.
Leads a specialized area which may have diverse functional elements. Frequently interacts with supervisors and/or functional peer group managers. May interact with senior management. Demonstrated leadership and people management skills. Strong communication skills, analytical skills, thorough understanding of product development. BS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. Typically one year of software engineering or related experience.

As a Manager you will own the vision and execution of software design and development for components of Oracle’s Cloud Infrastructure. You should have technical depth, architectural know how, distributed systems generalist, strong people and process manager and able to dive deep into any part of the stack and low-level systems. ·Manage a team focused delivering and operating services that support OCI’s internal operations and development teams. Leverage your technical and operational expertise to support the success of our services for our customers.
·Ensure delivered services are operationally supportable. Respond to critical issues regarding engagement and incident management.
·Drive initiatives that improve customer satisfaction and operational efficiency; provide feedback on new practices & procedures to scale with the rapid expansion of DTS services; drive process improvements.
·Plan and direct resource/personnel schedules as well as project budgets.
·Organize interdepartmental activities ensuring completion of the product/program/project on schedule and within budget constraints.
·Assign and monitor work of engineers and program staff, providing support and direction.
·Hire, cross-train, and evaluate personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the DTS. Identify staffing goals and meet hiring targets.
·Assist in the development of short, medium, and long term plans to achieve strategic objectives.
·Regularly interact across functional areas with senior management or executives to ensure unit objectives are met.
·BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area.
·3 years’ experience in high pressure operations environments leading Operational teams
·2 years’ in Web services, Cloud Technologies, Linux systems administration and Networking
·Prefer three to five years of operations management and project management or related experience.
·Ability to influence thinking or gain acceptance of others in sensitive situations is important.
·Demonstrated leadership and people management skills.
·Strong communication skills, analytical skills, thorough understanding of product development and product management.
