Job SummaryDirects multiple teams of developers involved in the analysis, design, development and implementation of large-scale software applications. Ensures projects are completed within committed time and budget and are integrated with other software applications. Generates applications development policies, standards and procedures. Manages a group of application development teams. Manages the activities of individual contributors or supervisors in a section or department with accountability for goals, objectives, operational policies. May participate in the development of functional strategy. Has responsibility for hiring, termination, performance and salary decisions.This key manager position will be leading a team that provides solution delivery for critical retail systems in a team-oriented culture. The manager provides leadership to individual team members, mentoring and overseeing day-to- day agile software delivery. They will also partner with key business and peer IT teams on strategies, investments and technical direction to ultimately deliver a positive front line and customer experience. This position must be able to self-navigate a corporate environment and be a leader among peers to deliver a cohesive as well as a thought out architectural solutions. This management position will manage a team with a diverse set of skills. The first skill sets will have the responsibility to enable DevOps, CICD, Research and Development, Explore Software Upgrades, environment configuration and application security expertise to a Retail Platform. Second will be the responsibility to develop on two unique applications focused on call center sales and support as well as physical retail automated self-service machines. This day-to-day management position will be coordinating activities across a large staff of employees and contractors. Long term goals will consist of building tight partnerships with a large number of key teams across the enterprise such as product management, account management, system integration, user experience, quality assurance, systems analysis and design and hardware engineers. Basic QualificationsBachelor's degree and eight years related work experience or twelve years related work experience post high school Five years software application experienceThree years system development experienceThree years coding experienceThree years supervisory or management experiencePreferred QualificationsPreferred Experience: Experience working in an Agile Scrum Team environment, as well as a CICD DevOps Framework. Experience with code review processes. Dev Leads will review Code and Developers will follow review guidelines. Must have a functional understanding to coach Agile methodologies, culture and principles with staff.Technical expertise to oversee integrated software solutions be architected, designed, developed, tested, and deployed to test and production environments. Assess the competency and proficiency of designers, developers, testers, analyst of both Sprint and contracted labor. Provide frequent feedback to employees on ways to improve and celebrate sucess. Assess new technologies to keep workforce efficient and improve application technical and business features. Can participate and lead the development of functional strategy. Must have experience with hiring, termination, promotion and compensation decisions. Works with manager to determine the necessary tasks of hiring, termination, performance and salary decisions. Must have strong communication skills to understand and convey issues, defects, resolution across a global development environment, as well as to executive staff. Experience managing applications with multiple production implementations as well as multiple development version/branches. Innovate ways to improve the development, test experience, maximize individual and team efficiency. Capable of making informed decisions that affect staffing financials, economics, resourcing (Employees and Contractors). Ability to assemble and track department Budgeting and Forecasting , as well as correlate to supply/ demand models. Team motivated and driven to plan, coordinate and participant in Team Building Events Prior experience managing and collaborating with a mix of employee and contracting staff across global locations. Prior experience managing, mentoring and leading colleagues or subordinates a plus. Experience converting and implementing applications to a Cloud environment a plus Experience managing and enabling in a DevOps environment of continuous integration, continuous delivery. Experience with the Research/ Development Lifecycle (new technology incubation) to plan and implement viable software upgrades and modernizing technologies. Relevant Key Subject Expertise: Experience developing a front end user experience with local database utilizing web services. Technologies utilized includes Java Stack, Angular, Oracle, DOT-NET, SQL, Spring, Struts, Spring Boot, and Sprint MVC, SOAP, REST, JSON, and HTTP.Functional knowledge of any of the integrated components of a mission critical Retail Point of Sale Platform such as Credit Card Swipe Devices, Signature Pads, Tablets (iPad), Terminals, Cash Drawers, Printers, Scanners, Integrated front line Sales workflows, integration with Tax platforms, Inventory, Booking Transactions to GL, Service, Repair, Pricing, Tendering, etc… a big plus.
