Focus on transactional process improvement and the development of a Lean organization. Facilitate and improve problem solving capabilities through development and improvement of Hoshin Kanri, Kaizen, Daily Management and Standard Work.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • The overall objective of the role is to positively impact results and culture by establishing standards, institutionalizing daily management processes, and adopting consistent problem-solving methods across the business. To achieve this the Lean Manager will be expected to serve as a facilitator, educator, advocate, consultant and accountability partner for Lean, driving the understanding and application of Lean principles and tools across the entire business

  • Collaborate with the business teams to assess value streams, processes and practices as compared to lean company benchmarks, both internal and external. Establish a transformation plan based on the prioritized gaps and develop new process capability through the application of Hoshin Kanri and the execution of kaizen events.

  • Design and build organization lean capacity to coach individuals and teams while transforming the key value streams.

  • Supporting the Business leaders, act as the lean practitioner to prioritize and solve problems based on voice of the customer.

  • Assist Business leaders in establishing key performance indicators (KPIs) and implementing daily management to drive continuous improvement.

  • Establish a kaizen event rhythm within the business and leverage that activity to develop lean proficiency for all employees; creating internal capabilities to facilitate kaizens and sustain continuous process improvement without external support.

  • Partner with the Corporate Kaizen Promotion Office and business partners to quickly deploy new, best-practice capability and process within the function and across GE. Key contributor to the development and implementation of the GE lean system.

Required Qualifications

  • 10 years of experience solving complex problems and transforming business performance and process through the application of Lean techniques.

  • Lean practitioner, capable of facilitating kaizen events and coaching the core tools such as Daily Visual Management, structured Problem Solving, Value Stream Mapping, Standard Work and Transactional Process Improvement.

  • Proven to be effective driving outcomes in large, matrixed organizations – understands how to navigate geographies, cultures, relationships, etc. Can drive work around the world because they are accountable, trustworthy, credible, committed, and intellectually agile.

  • Change agent, able to make the case for lean, demonstrate immediate impact and drive cultural change within the business and on campus.

  • Highly collaborative person, comfortable with constructive conflict and debate normally associated with change.

  • Critical thinker with the ability to bring others along, even those with conflicting priorities.
