JOB DUTIES:

  • Manage and coordinate all aspects of the Accounting function while ensuring Fund Accounting and Internal Controls are adhered to

  • Lead a Finance staff of 25 individuals ensuring fiduciary responsibilities to Honeywell and the NNSA

  • Drive understanding of all the cost elements in the General Ledger. Overall responsibility for monthly general ledger close, inventory, accounts payable, payroll, travel, property, capital, program accounting, billings, contract closeouts, financial planning and analysis, and pension management

  • Responsible for accurate and compliant corporate financial reporting

  • Responsible for accurate and compliant tax laws including State and Federal laws

  • Anticipates business needs and develops analytical data to support decision making.

  • Demonstrates the ability to communicate financials to Sr. Management

  • Responsible for leading the organizational development, including functional knowledge and management leadership skills of the Controller function

  • Ensures compliance with established Accounting policies and procedures and NNSA regulations and helps ensure a sound internal controls environment

  • Solves complex issues related to the interpretation and application of Accounting policies and procedures, and explores alternative solutions to improve company's financial reporting

  • Uses financial reporting, customized as necessary and reasonable, to support financial requirements. Coordinates system enhancements as required

  • Manages multiple priorities to satisfy emerging business requirements

  • Provides proactive support in budget & rate process, variance analysis and forecasting

  • Leverages an understanding of inter-relationships between Fund Accounting to influence and advise stakeholders

  • Represents the General Ledger to various stakeholders and customers

  • Prepares and delivers presentations and operational reviews for Senior Management

  • Proactively communicates early warning signs

You Must Have:

  • At least seven (7) years of experience in Finance/Accounting, with progressively responsible management positions

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration with a major in Accounting; or Bachelor's degree in Accountancy; or a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration with equivalent education consisting of sufficient hours to qualify for a major in Accounting at an accredited university or a minimum of 7 years Honeywell Finance experience
