POSITION SUMMARY: As a Cardiac Device Technician in our practice, you will function as a subject matter expert and champion of patient care for our cardiac device patients by providing thorough pacemaker/AICD interrogation and re-programming in person, remotely, or via phone transmission. The Device Tech is also responsible for ensuring that patients and their families are well-educated and are provided the necessary instructions for monitoring and follow up.
JOB DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
Interrogate, interpret, and re-program cardiac devices with minimal physician supervision.
Troubleshoot critical device issues and take immediate steps toward resolution.
Collaborate with physicians regarding device status and accurately document device analysis in EMR for review.
Ensures charges are accurately captured for device interrogation.
Schedule patients for device appointment follow up in EMR and remote website including immediate/urgent contact with “no show” patients to ensure they are rescheduled.
Ensures programming rooms are adequately stocked with necessary supplies.
Position may require some travel to regional offices for assigned device clinics.
Minimum of 5 years experience analyzing and reprogramming cardiac pacemaker and AICD’s (Biotronik, Boston Scientific, Medtronic, and St. Jude) OR a current and unrevoked Cardiac Device Technology Certification from a recognized device training school.
Experience reviewing and managing remote device transmissions (Carelink, Latitude, and Merlin) is required.
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a relatable science program is highly preferred.
Current and unrevoked Cardiac Device Technology Certification is highly preferred.
Current BLS certification preferred.
