Quality Technology Services, LLC Associate General Counsel, Director in Overland Park, Kansas

Associate General Counsel, Director reports to the General Counsel and supports the company’s legal operations in a variety of matters, with a focus that includes, but is not limited to, commercial / customer contract negotiation and drafting and other transactional and compliance matters. The position provides support to the company’s sales operations and other business units. Experience in the data center industry is preferred

RESPONSIBILITIES, other duties may be assigned.

  • Negotiating and drafting customer and vendor contracts as well as various other transactional matters and agreements

  • Assisting with a variety of other legal functions such as loans, joint ventures, acquisitions, construction, real estate, intellectual property protection, tax abatements, litigation, etc.

  • Assisting with legal and regulatory compliance

  • Performing a broad range of legal matters and general business matters based on the needs of the company, as may be assigned by the General Counsel

  • Working with and managing outside counsel, counterparties, insurers, and other third parties as needed

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • J.D. from an accredited U.S. law school with strong academic credentials

  • Admission to the Bar of a U.S. state or the District of Columbia (with ability to become admitted in Kansas)

  • Seven or more years of legal experience as a practicing lawyer working in the areas of commercial and contracts law and negotiation; real estate leasing; corporate, finance and transactional law.

  • Able to take initiative with no direction

  • Strong written and oral communication skills

  • Strong listening, organizational, and interpersonal skills

  • Strong work ethic and accountability to deadlines

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and evolving business environment

  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel), Box, Workday, DocuSign

  • Excellent analytical, time-management, judgment and decision-making skills

  • Possess ambition and an optimistic attitude

  • Ability to effectively multitask and manage competing priorities and demands on time

  • Strong problem-solving and negotiation skills

  • Able to effectively manage complicated legal and business issues

  • Ability to effectively manage others, including outside counsel and service providers

  • Must be able to maintain a high degree of confidentiality
