In Kansas City, Honeywell Federal Manufacturing & Technologies (FM&T) manages and operates the U.S. Department of Energy/National Nuclear Security Administration’s (NNSA) Kansas City National Security Campus. This state-of-the-art engineering, manufacturing and sourcing facility produces a wide array of intricate components to deliver trusted national security products and government services primarily for the NNSA. Honeywell FM&T is seeking an App Developer that loves technology and demonstrates a strong passion for app development. This person will join a team that supports a db and reporting system that serves our engineering, quality, and partner laboratory customers. The successful candidate will work on the Enterprise Component Information System team to provide system integration and data integration using disciplined software development processes. Additional training will be provided. We are seeking someone with a very high technical aptitude to learn. Honeywell FM&T offers a strong team atmosphere with a great work/life balance.
Duties and Responsibilities:
May lead mod complex projects that require a singular area of programming expertise Responsible for app analysis, development, integration, enhancement, maintenance and support for a COTS enterprise web app/db suite
Participate in planning sessions with team, customers and design agency to implement process improvements. Assess customer needs utilizing a structured requirements process (gathering, analyzing, documenting and managing changes) to assist in identifying business priorities and advice on options
Analyze existing info systems to identify weaknesses and develop opportunities for improvements. Evaluate and provide recommendations for new/expanded data sources, work-flows and software projects
Adhere to quality standards and procedures. Maintain quality assurance for software modules, comply with app & team standards and conduct unit testing of modules to ensure requirements are met
Document functions and changes to new or modified features/modules, test activities/results and other areas such as error handling
Enhance and monitor operation & performance. Identify new tools, processes and training to improve team efficiency
Provide app support and customer support for a COTS app software suite
Converts info from design specs to app code
You Must Have:
US citizenship in order to obtain and maintain US Dept of Energy ""Q"" level security clearance
Two or more years of direct work experience
Bachelors degree, certification in an IT related discipline (Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Management Information Systems or similar discipline) or four additional years of direct work exp in lieu of Bachelors degree or certification
Supplier Relationship Management (SRM)
Basic LINUX knowledge
Toad for Oracle or other database clients
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and wiki tools
Strong communication skills
Web Services &/or ETL
Agile, Jira, &/or Confluence applications
