Position Summary: The Osawatomie State Hospital is currently seeking PRN Registered Nurses to provide care for our patients. Our schedules run 6:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. The Osawatomie State Hospital is an inpatient psychiatric hospital. As the PRN Registered Nurse you will be working directly with patients on the units providing quality care.
Job Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:
The RN provides direct nursing care to insure individualized quality patient care.
Must be knowledgeable and administer medications on a regular basis to maintain competency.
Need to be able to smoothly handle multiple demands, shifting priorities and rapid change to meet the needs of patients.
Actively participate in assessments, planning, implementation, on-going monitoring and continuous evaluate of the patients treatment plans and reviews and complete documentation in the patients medical record.
Make rounds and perform special checks on patients in order to ensure patient safety. This is done by observing the patients physical and psychological status with 15 minute checks.
Perform all aspects of nursing tasks and reinforce appropriate nursing interventions.
Provide accurate and concise reports between shifts verbally and written shift report and provide hand off communication between shifts and disciplines with each shift. Will orient new employees in order to familiarize the employee to a specific treatment program and be a role model for both staff and patients.
Qualifications:
Education: RN Degree/Certificate
Licensing & Certification: Eligible to be licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) with the State of Kansas.
