Unit Description

Sodexo, leader in quality of life services has a potential opening for a General Manager 3 to oversee the Food and Nutrition Services Department at Osawatomie State Hospital in Osawatomie, Kansas. Osawatomie is a State hospital for Kansas located 20 miles south of Kansas City. The GM will oversee the Food operation and manage the daily feeding of over 170 meals per meal period.

Reporting to the District Manager, our General Manager 3 will be responsible for all aspects of the Food & Nutrition Services. This is a great opportunity for a candidate that enjoys a fast paced environment. The ideal candidate will have prior management level experience in a hospital environment, will be a customer focused, innovative leader with exceptional customer service skills as well as demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong client relationships and meet financial objectives in the unit.

Responsibilities include:

  • Implementing and maintaining Sodexo programs and practices

  • Ensuring Sodexo standards for employee training are in place and create a culture of teamwork and loyalty

  • Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, such as food and physical safety, and menu systems

  • Coordinating department functions and standards with other managers

  • Ensuring client needs and goals are met

  • Client communication

  • Special projects

Qualifications for this position include:

  • Proven ability to develop teams

  • Proven ability to motivate and inspire staff and participate on a management team

  • Computer literacy to achieve and maintain competence in web-driven Sodexo programs

  • Full HACCP knowledge, and Sodexo ServSafe certification within 3 months of hire

  • Prior food service management and client retention experience in a health-care environment strongly preferred

  • BS Degree in Nutrition, Dietetics or a Certified Dietary Manager credential

Position Summary

Directs all contract management service operations at a single account/unit. Plans and supervises special functions. Maintains cash control and payroll records. Hires and trains unit personnel. Maintains customer satisfaction and good public relations. Manages through managers and is accountable for the contract. Senior-most person assigned to a one client account
