Olathe Medical Center Surgical Service Business Partner in Olathe, Kansas

Job Summary:

We welcome you to join the Surgery Team as a Surgical Service Business Partner . You will be responsible for the business aspects of Surgical Services including contract management, charge capture analysis and coordination of supplies, equipment, contracts, and construction along with reviewing and analyzing data and providing suggested practice changes. This position requires a broad understanding of Surgical Services. This position is responsible for maintaining necessary instruments and equipment within the surgery department for surgical procedures in the absence of service line coordinators. He/she works closely with materials management for ordering of supplies and facilitating budget goals and cost containment .

Minimum Requirements:

  • 2 Year / Associate Degree Minimum

  • 4 Year / Bachelors Degree Preferred

  • 1 - 3 Years Minimum

  • 3 - 5 Years Experience in a healthcare setting Preferred

  • Logistics Knowledge (Minimum proficiency)

  • Surgery Knowledge (Preferred proficiency)

    Key Responsibilities:

  • Manages inventory and resources to stay within budget. Provides detailed analysis of budget status as required. Provides cost-saving ideas and works closely with staff, physicians, and others to implement cost- savings solutions.

  • Remains knowledgeable of GPO contracts and individual contracts related to Surgical Services. Manages status of contracts and assures compliance with contracts.

  • Assures adherence to policies and procedures as they relate to product evaluations/trials and purchases. Works closely and effectively with Surgical Leadership, Purchasing, Biomed, IT, and others as necessary regarding evaluations/purchases. Communicates status of evaluations/trials and new purchases to clinicians in a productive and efficient manner.

  • Gathers, records, and analyzes data specific to budget, productivity, quality measures, utilization, etc. and provides suggestions to increase productivity, revenue and decrease expenses.
