Garmin Senior Software Engineer in Olathe, Kansas

Garmin International seeks Senior Software Engineer (Olathe, KS; Multiple Positions):

Serves in a leadership capacity for carrying out software development in C, C++, C#, Java, Assembly language or other selected languages for new products and/or applications. Serves as a Senior Software Engineer for a complex software development project Designs and/or reviews architected modules and software systems supporting new technology or improving capability/performance of existing functionality. Execute manual and automated tests of Garmin software in accordance with established testing protocols to ensure quality and compliance with stated requirements. Decomposes functional requirements into well-defined tasks. Researches fundamental problems and implements algorithm solutions that are appropriate. Offers peer technical assessments in areas of expertise, new technologies and software designs. Participates in project leadership and/or program planning including providing technical input to product development plans and concept documents. Contributes to advanced technical research on new technologies. Mentors and/or supervises less experienced Software Engineers.


Bachelor’s degree in Computer or Information Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer or Software Engineering or related field plus 5 years of progressive experience in automation test engineering.

Must have demonstrated experience in the following:

  • .Net C#, JavaScript

  • Software development support tooling including 3 of the following: Bitbucket, TFS, VersionOne, Jira, APIGEE, CloudFlare, TeamCity, Loggly, NewRelic, Splunk, Cucumber, Selenium or Octopus

  • Develop and maintain QA test automation frameworks

  • Automated software delivery principles including Continuous Integration/Delivery (CI/CD) and test automation frameworks

  • Postman, Curl and Newman scripts

In lieu of a Bachelor’s plus five years of progressive experience, a Master’s plus three years of experience in the requirements noted above is acceptable.
