Garmin Senior Project Manager IT in Olathe, Kansas

We are currently seeking an IT Project Manager to join our Infrastructre team at our Global Headquarters in Olathe, KS! In this role, you will manage large and complex projects across multiple teams and stakeholders, driving accountability to project teams on time and within budget. Additional responsibilites will include: \n\n\n\tDelivers project status and summary project information to all levels of the business including the executive level \n\tIdentifies interdependencies in projects across the department and provides guidance for project management processes and procedures\n\tDerives and executes project management improvement efforts \n\tParticipate in project definition activities including feature analysis and system tradeoffs\n\tDevelops reliable solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and creatively\n\tServes as a mentor to less experienced IT Project Analyst (Project Analyst 1, 2 & 3)\n\tDemonstrates broad understanding of Garmin’s business model including Engineering, Operations, Finance, Sales & Marketing\n\tDemonstrated ability to perform duties in a self-directed manner with minimal supervision or direction.\n\tMust demonstrate organizational, problem solving and project management abilities.\n\tMust demonstrate the ability to work independently and prioritize multiple objectives in a rapidly changing environment.\n\tMust possess proven knowledge and experience with evaluating workload and available resources and adjusting schedules and priorities as required \n\tDevelopment and maintenance of all project documentation\n\tMotivates and drives accountability of project teams and stakeholders to ensure successful delivery of projects, including coordination of resources assigned to projects for which he/she is responsible without direct authority\n EDUCTAION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED: \n\n\n\tBachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Business or another substantially similar field AND a minimum of 9 years relevant experience OR equivalent combination of education and relevant experience\n\tOutstanding academics with the demonstrated ability to apply learned knowledge\n\tDemonstrates mastery of Garmin specific project management principles and industry standards\n\tDemonstrated experience with a proven track record in successful implementation of technology solutions\n\tMust be detail-oriented and have the ability to work proactively and effectively with minimal supervision\n\tAbility to prioritize and multi-task in a flexible, fast paced and changing environment\n\tDemonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills in a large team or departmental setting\n\tMust be team-oriented, possess a positive attitude and work well with others\n\tDriven problem solver with proven success in solving difficult problems\n\tDemonstrates proficient time management and follow-up skills \n\tSuperior organizational and analytical skills with keen attention to detail and quality\n\n\nDESIREABLE QUALIFICATIONS:\n\n\n\tCertification in a nationally accredited project management discipline (i.e., PMI, PMP, Six Sigma, Unified Rational, etc.) \n\tExperience with automated testing tools and testing procedures \n\tExperience with and understanding of web-based concepts and processes\n\tStrong understanding of Infrastructure and Security concepts and processes\n\tFamiliarity with and demonstrated understanding of IT Service Management\n\tFamiliarity with database systems and large scale application lifecycle management\n
