Garmin Senior Operations Maintenance Technician in Olathe, Kansas
\nWe are looking for a full-time Sr. Operations Maintenance Technician for our headquarters in the Greater Kansas City area. In this role, you will be responsible for executing the daily maintenance of the headquarters including building maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, improving equipment and preventive maintenance while defining general approach and specific solutions to technical problems. Other essential functions include:\n\n\n\tSupport Operations staff with maintenance problem-solving, implementation of solutions along with daily troubleshooting, maintenance and preventative maintenance to support facility operations\n\tCommunicate status of work clearly providing visibility to supervisor \n\tProvide immediate response for maintenance situations, including after hours and weekends\n\tLeverages knowledge of power and hand tools operation/safety in performance of essential functions \n\tMentors and trains Maintenance Technicians Levels 1-3 and serves as a source of expertise for other less experienced Facilities technicians\n\tAbility to take conceptual ideas and implement them into practice\n\tDevelops reliable solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity\n\tPerform other duties as assigned\n\t \n\n Qualified candidates possess an Associate’s degree in a technical related field AND 8 years substantially similar work experience OR a minimum of 10 year’s maintenance experience OR completion/certification of a qualified technical trade program AND 9 years’ experience. Other requirements include:\n\n\n\tMust have a Master Mechanical License such as Journeyman Electrician, Boiler Operator, HVAC, Pipefitter license or related certificate \n\tSuccessfully demonstrates knowledge of all skills from Level 3 plus: \n\t\n\t\tEquipment/system integration knowledge / ability\n\t\tEquipment electrical controls troubleshoot and repair\n\t\n\t\n\tTake lead role in planning/performing a project with guidance of your supervisor\n\tResearches new technologies/systems and assess associated impacts, challenges and risks\n\tMakes substantial contributions to determining feasibility of project goals/ objectives\n\tDemonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills\n\tDemonstrates computer proficiency with Microsoft Outlook email and Microsoft Word and Excel \n\tMust demonstrate the ability to lift 50 pounds and pushes/ pulls 200 pounds, climbs ladders, squats, kneels, crawls, stands an entire shift and walks long distances throughout the facility in the performance of essential functions \n\tMust possess excellent customer service skills to both internal and external customers\n\n\n\nTechnical School Certification in Electronics, HVAC, Industrial or Maintenance Technology or a related facilities degree and a Refrigerant license are highly preferred.
