Garmin Project Manager Marketing in Olathe, Kansas

Garmin is looking for a Project Manager for our Marketing department who will manage all aspects of packaging development activities and facilitate the collaboration between the project team and other departments to ensure a successful packaging creation, development, and launch. Manage new product launch activities, including website setup, product photo shoots, Oracle pricing and the generation of dealer announcements.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Develop new product information, product specifications, set-up and distribute to applicable marketing and sales staff company wide

  • Analyze the status and recommend the course of action for all marketing activities required for a successful product launch

  • Manage the creation and development of the physical packaging design by collaborating with other Garmin Departments and analyzing budgetary, contractual, legal, customer and Garmin requirements

  • Setup and maintain Garmin products and their accessories in the ecommerce database

  • Develop dealer and distributor Marketing announcements and content, including new product, price reductions and end-of-life announcements

  • Create and manage detailed packaging development schedules

  • Collaborate with Marketing Communications to manage packaging job priorities

  • Advise on packaging development status during Engineering team meetings

  • Manage and facilitate packaging development design review meetings

  • Analyze the development status for all packaging items to ensure readiness for pilot run and mass production

  • Collaborate with the development team to develop and create an appropriate packaging solution

  • Create and manage bill of materials; develop Engineering Change Orders

  • Execute and implement Garmin procedures for packaging development and release

  • Collaborate with business segment leaders, Garmin Europe/Taiwan/Salem and departments within Garmin including Marketing Communications, IT, Operations, Sales, Marketing, Engineering, etc in connection with managing packaging development activities

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist the Marketing and Sales staff for all product related needs

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from a four year college or university OR a minimum of five (5) years work experience performing a Marketing Product Specialist role

  • Must be detail-oriented and have the ability to work proactively and effectively with minimal supervision

  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and multi-task in a flexible, fast paced and challenging environment

  • Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Must be team-oriented, possess a positive attitude and work well with others

  • Driven problem solver with proven success in solving difficult problems

  • Must be detail-oriented and have the ability to work proactively and effectively with minimal supervision to meet deadlines

  • Must demonstrate a proven track record in providing excellent customer service

  • Demonstrated ability to deal with confidential company matters

  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Extensive Garmin product knowledge

  • Strong interest, appreciation and knowledge using Garmin products in markets such as outdoor, fitness, boating and automotive

  • Familiar with HTML Web interface
