We are looking a Privacy and Corporate Counsel who will be responsible for providing legal advice on a wide range of privacy, data protection and security-related legal and compliance issues, and will be reviewing advertising and marketing materials to ensure compliance with applicable laws. The selected candidate will spend approximately 50% of their time on privacy/data protection issues and approximately 50% of their time on advertising/marketing issues.
Assisting in the development and management of privacy and data protection related contracts, including Standard Contractual Clauses and data processing agreements.
Providing support to other members of Garmin’s global privacy and business teams, including in areas related to acquisitions and strategic partnerships.
Evaluating the potential impact of legislative and regulatory initiatives and proposals.
Collaborating with other members of Garmin’s global privacy and product teams to evaluate new products, applications and features to ensure compliance with privacy laws and regulations.
Reviewing advertising and marketing materials to ensure compliance with applicable competition and advertising laws and mitigation of risk of claims

Performs other job-related duties and special projects as assigned by the Assistant General Counsel - Corporate or other in-house counsel
Serves as a resource on other corporate and regulatory issues
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
Law Degree from an ABA accredited law school
Admission to any state Bar and eligibility for admission to the Kansas Bar
Must possess a minimum of 2 years’ experience either in private practice or in-house
Must have experience applying U.S. and European privacy laws and regulations, including the GDPR, CCPA, COPPA, HIPAA and cookie regulations.
Experience in advertising and marketing laws is preferred but not required - training will be provided.
