If you’re ready to work – and have fun, too – come, help us put the pieces together!\n\n \n\nWe are seeking a full-time New Product Introduction Planner at our world headquarters in Olathe, Kansas. In this role, you will be responsible for Operations coordinator for new products. Lead and facilitate the New Product Introduction (NPI) meetings with representatives from Purchasing, Planning, Manufacturing, Marketing and Engineering, Order Administration and other groups as required coordinating Garmin associates during development, pilot, prototype, and ramp-up of manufacturing. Other essential functions include: \n\n\n\n\tManage the planning, ordering and delivery of assigned components, products and services to ensure on-time delivery across all levels of the organization for prototype, pilot run and initial mass production \n\tManage the alignment of phase in and phase out of finished goods to support Garmin’s Business Segment Team initiatives \n\tProvide timely and accurate reports to management on manufacturing timelines and delivery performance \n\tProficiently applies basic to intermediate knowledge and understanding of MRP, ERP, Inventory & Forecast Planning, Logistics and Distribution, ECOs and product lifecycle transitions in performance of demand planning tasks and/or projects \n\tMay participate and lead in planning projects focused on continuous improvement \n\tExercises effective communication skills in performance of tasks/projects with internal and external customers to meet and exceed customer expectations \n\tLearns to apply and use analytical and qualitative methods to understand, predict and enhance product introduction supply chain processes\n\n Qualified candidates possess an Bachelors’ Degree OR Associates Degree from a two year college or university AND 3 years’ experience performing a role substantially similar to the essential functions of this job description OR, High School Diploma or Equivalent AND 5 years’ experience performing a role substantially similar to the essential functions of this job description OR High School Diploma or Equivalent AND 3 years’ experience performing a role substantially similar to the essential functions of this job description and management approved supply chain certificate Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Other requirements include: \n\n\n\tDemonstrates intermediate proficiency and knowledge of applicable Microsoft Office software \n\tUnderstands and implements lean practices\n\tSolid understanding of warehouse, manufacturing and service processes\n\tDemonstrates full proficiency and knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Distribution Resource Planning (DRP) or Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP) and other planning tools required to perform essential functions of this role\n\tDemonstrates ability to learn and gain proficient use and knowledge of planning tools\n\n\nPrevious work or internship experience working in a manufacturing or distribution environment and Certified in Production & Inventory Management (CPIM) or Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) is highly preferred!\n\nOur benefits are designed to lead an evolving marketplace, support innovation and encourage a healthy balance between work and life.
