Terracon National Director II in Olathe, Kansas
An exciting opportunity is now available at Terracon! We are searching for an experienced and proven leader for the role of National Director and Senior Vice President of our Facilities Engineering Service Line. Our facilities engineering practice has approximately 200 staff in 30 locations with annual revenues approaching $50 mm. The service line includes our building enclosure, structural diagnostics, facility asset management, property condition assessment, aquatics, and MEP/energy practices.
In this role, you will collaborate with Terracon’s Executive Leadership, lead the development and execution of the strategic direction and long-term vision of the service line and provide guidance and leadership in the following areas of our Facilities Engineering practice:
Quality and Project Delivery
Growth and Profitability
Client Development and Experience
We are flexible on the home base for the position but prefer one of our current major Facilities hub cities of Kansas City, Dallas, Austin, Houston, Charlotte, Atlanta, Cincinnati, or Orlando. Periodic overnight travel is required.

Business and Client Skills/Abilities
Experience in building and managing large operations for growth and profitability in multiple locations.
Experience and ability in marketing strategies, client development, proposal writing, and client interviews and presentations.
Experience and understanding in executing and improving project execution and delivery and client experience.
Effective communication skills for multiple audiences required (i.e. internal and external), includes writing and verbal skills and ability to develop and provide presentations.
Ability to lead and manage a group of senior level staff in multiple geographic locations in support of the company and service line objectives.
Have a general knowledge of variety of technical areas of practice within the Facilities Service Line - building enclosure, structural diagnostics, facility asset management, property condition assessment, aquatics, or MEP/energy practices
Provide technical direction and oversight of project scopes and performance for a variety of practice areas within the service line (i.e. need a broad knowledge base)
Provide senior-level consulting to both internal staff and external clients
Experience in developing and overseeing quality management programs and maintaining the quality of technical work at our high standards across all offices performing work in the service line
Responsive to needs of staff from around the company when questions on technical, contract and client issues are raised
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Architecture Discipline or related degree plus at least 15 years of practical experience in one or more of the Facilities Service Line practice areas; or
Master’s degree in Engineering or Architecture Discipline or related degree plus at least 12 years of practical experience in one or more of the Facilities Service Line practice areas
Valid driver’s license and acceptable motor vehicle driving record
Registered Professional Engineer or Registered Architect license is strongly preferred
