Garmin IT Operations Specialist in Olathe, Kansas
Please note that this shift is Monday-Friday, 6AM to 2:30PM\n\nWe are looking for a full-time IT Operations Specialist 2 for our headquarters in the greater Kansas City area. In this role, you will be responsible for providing first level of support to end users and responds to their needs and/or alerts through basic troubleshooting, resolution or escalation steps. Other essential functions include:\n\n\n\t\n\tMonitors and responds to critical alerts raised by monitoring systems by following documented procedures that instruct troubleshooting, resolution or escalation steps and performs basic troubleshooting\n\t\n\t\n\tFollow procedures defined by run logs and monitoring systems\n\t\n\t\n\tFacilitates incident management outage procedures, helping to ensure IT department resources have properly responded too and communicate about Sev 1 and Sev 2 outages.\n\t\n\t\n\tDesigns action plans for internal NOC process improvements based on recurring trends\n\t\n\t\n\tRecommends and Implements proactive measures to prevent/minimize repeat problem occurrences, and follows-through on recommendations.\n\t\n\t\n\tNotifies and facilitates communication with designated personnel in the event of hardware/operating system/software failure.\n\t\n\t\n\tMaintains records of daily communication transactions, problems, remedial actions taken, and installation activities\n\t\n\t\n\tWorks effectively and professionally with other team members, learns from and shares knowledge with others by documenting and contributing to knowledge base\n\t\n Qualified candidates possess a High School Diploma or GED and coursework towards completion of a technical degree OR a minimum of 4 years IT or technical experience. Other requirements include:\n\n\n\t\n\tOutstanding academics with the demonstrated ability to apply learned knowledge\n\t\n\t\n\tDemonstrates basic familiarity with troubleshooting and research tools\n\t\n\t\n\tDemonstrates basic familiarity with asset, service, monitoring, and documentation tools\n\t\n\t\n\tDemonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills in a small team setting\n\t\n\t\n\tMust possess the ability to lift up to 55 lbs. to effectively perform the essential functions of this job description\n\t\n\n\nSuperior academics and previous experience working in a team environment is highly preferred!\n\nGarmin International is an equal opportunity employer.
