Garmin IT and Security Internal Communications Lead in Olathe, Kansas
We are seeking a IT and Security Marketing & Communications Lead to join our Information Technology organization at our Global Headquarters in Olathe, Kansas! This person will create, manage, and deploy internal communication process and materials for the Information Technology and Security Department, as well as develop program communication plans and provide clear, concise information to all Garmin associates. Additional responsibilities will include: \n\n\n\tCreate, implement, and manage informative internal communication processes and materials that will be delivered to all levels and business segments of Garmin business worldwide including: outage alerts, changes, upgrades, compliance, policies and procedures, and security, partnering with MarComm as needed. \n\tDevelop, execute, and oversee communication strategies that aid in the adoption and participation of the IT and Security program being deployed, creating excitement and buy-in around value-add to Garmin\n\tUtilize various mediums (email, teams, company intranet, etc.) to engage associates to ensure communication is reviewed, and develops KPI’s such as read response, incident rates, etc. to ensure appropriate actions are taken based on information that is disseminated, and then prepare plans to increase engagement based on KPI.\n\tBuild and maintain relationships with key internal and external partners to acquire and maintain a detailed knowledge of the IT Department’s policies, principles and strategies. \n\tDemonstrates excellent analytical, logical reasoning, problem solving, verbal, written communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.\n\tPartner with IT leadership in development of marketing IT and Security on social media as it relates to specific recruiting needs, partnering with Human Resources as needed.\n\tEffectively manage day to day operations, maturing IT department communication framework and standards through delegation, mentorship and coaching of other IT associates.\n\tUses independent judgment to address difficult and complex problems and operates with discretion in matters of significance.\n\tContinually seek feedback from associates about improvement opportunities\n\tDevelop standards for knowledge articles and videos that are clear, relevant, and available\n\tEnsure communications and information distributed is stored appropriately and easily accessible for future reference\n EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:\n\n\n\tBachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations or a relevant field AND a minimum of 5 years relevant experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience.\n\tSuperior written and verbal communication skills, including editing and proofreading\n\tAbility to create and develop material that is easily consumable to an end audience, relevant, informative, and exciting for the user. \n\tExperience with Global Enterprise communications\n\tProven ability to plan, direct, and manage resources, schedule, and make decisions to fulfill project objectives within scope and schedule\n\tExperience with digital or social media in a corporate setting \n\tPrior experience with Email management tools, such as Adobe Email Management (AEM), and creative tools, such as Adobe Suite\n\n\nGarmin International is an equal opportunity employer.
