Garmin Internet Application Developer Intern - (Summer 2022 - HQ - Olathe, KS) in Olathe, Kansas

We are seeking an Internet Application Developer Intern who designs, develops, and maintains software applications with Garmin’s Operations department. The Application Developer will work in the Product Support and Shared Services group in Operations. \n\nEssential Functions:\n\n\n\tLearn to design and develop web-enabled client-side and server-side applications as part of a structured Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) process.\n\tLearn to create enterprise software in support of Garmin’s ERP or web-based applications.\n\tLearn to maintain, improve, and extend existing software.\n\tLearn to work with analysts and users to design required software systems.\n\tLearn to work with analysts to develop and implement unit and system testing processes\n\tProvide Support to helpdesk on escalated problems and issues\n\tLearns how to use and apply new technology as needed\n\tContinually improve team requirements gathering, development, documentation and testing processes\n\tProactively identify opportunities to make improvements in applications and raise those up to leadership\n\tPerforms technical root cause analysis and structures resolution to meet immediate and long-term needs\n Education, Experience, and Skill Required:\n\n\n\tPursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or a field relevant to perform the essential functions of this job description\n\tExcellent academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.0 as a general rule)\n\tDemonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills\n\tMust possess relevant experience and/or training\n\tMust possess relevant education and/or experiences as required for the specific projects he/she will develop\n\tDemonstrated proficiency writing software in developmental languages (SQL, PHP,Javascript, Node.js, Python)\n\tAbility to properly prioritize and manage multiple projects and support tasks at the same time\n\tDemonstrated ability to troubleshoot, identify root causes and resolve them\n\n\nGarmin International is an equal opportunity employer.
