TT Electronics General Manager in Olathe, Kansas

TT Electronics’ Olathe, Kansas facility, is an industry-leading designer and manufacturer of custom magnetic products and assemblies. The Olathe-based site has 65 years’ experience in the design and development of unique harsh-environment solutions for mission-critical applications.

Our dedicated teams are driven by collaboration and innovation to deliver engineering-led products supporting key applications including power conversion, actuation and control systems where our solutions support a broad range of globally recognized major aerospace and defense platforms across air, land and sea.


Reporting to VP of Power Solutions North America (PSNA), the primary focus is to deliver the P&L for the business, leading to sustainable profitable annual growth. Having full P&L ownership of the Olathe, KS and Hatfield, PA businesses, the GM takes responsibility for developing and executing a clear and robust strategy to achieve the financial plans of the business.

The GM will also serve as a member of the PSNA Leadership team and work collaboratively and consultatively within the team and amongst peers from the other TT Electronics Divisions to contribute to overall division and TT Electronics success.

Working together from within the PSNA team, the GM will bring forward thinking and realistic perspectives on the challenges and opportunities confronting the business and the market, developing strategies to take full business advantage to protect and grow the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Management of the business in its entirety, including full accountability for the P&L

  • Develop a strategic growth plan to support the business, recommending investments and allocation of development and capital resources aimed at delivering year over year sustainable profitable growth

  • Developing and implementing a sales and channel strategy for the business including building and managing a strong Account Management and Business Development team

  • Managing excellent customer performance

  • Support operational activities including setting priorities, monitoring & continually improving performance

  • Lead from the front to deliver best in class Health and Safety performance

  • Embedding the Be TT strategy and continuous improvement in operational performance through BE Lean, Cost of Quality and Strategic procurement activities, delivering year over year improvements in efficiency

  • Owning and driving performance and profitability including cost positioning, pricing strategies, competitive analysis, lifecycle management and operations

  • Evaluating competition, customers, and opportunities as they relate to existing services and potential service development activities

  • Establishing and developing the leadership team covering the Olathe and Hatfield businesses and their direct reports through people development and effective succession planning.

  • Ensure highest ethical standards across the division and full compliance to the group code of conduct

Core Requirements

  • Experience in managing a team of seasoned professionals, dealing with the full gamut of business functions in a mid to large size company.

  • Experience developing growth/strategic business plans

  • Annual sales revenue responsibility of $15m+

  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment, preferably in aerospace and defense

  • Proven track record of leading projects and teams

  • Experience implementing change management and lean manufacturing

  • Experience in acquiring and integrating acquisitions would be considered a plus

  • Sound administrative skills, well-developed management skills.

  • Degree-educated, preferably with an MBA or similar post-graduate qualification.
